He’s the one who jumped on him first. Drunk people can give consent, but sometimes they can’t and that’s when they are just knockout. In this case, he acted first so even though he won’t remember, it was consent.

Yes I can see the thought behind this, but in my country Australia, it’s written law that under no circumstances can consent be given when under the influence of alcohol, although I understand how laws differ in different countries. But in Aus, it’s simply black and white. It’s taught in schools as soon as we’re of age to legally have sex (12). So that’s probably why there’s confusion..

well in America it is like that. You get fucking disgusting cases like Brock Turner being the standard in a situation like “blame it on the alcohol” hence why there’s no actual legal punishment. Or the frat boy’s are just being boys god forbid we punish them. Or you get the tired and reliable slut shaming that most women and occasionally men will experience of “ what did you wear?”, “ well you put yourself in that situation?”, “ did you drink?” God forbid you get get raped at a university and you’ll never see justice served with that legal battle. Legally if both parties are drunk you can still press charges, however because the narrative always looks down on people being in vulnerable situations, rape accusers are often denied proper attention and care towards their cases. Doesn’t even surprise me you think this way America has one of the worst track records of reported rape and rape apology for straight good-looking affluent white men along with the best of them of oppressive countries ironically enough. And this is said from an American who has experienced being sexually assaulted.

That sounds nice, but it does add more questions. And I can see where it can become blurred so very easily. First off, what do they take as "being under the influence of alcohol"? And how do they establish whether someone is or was under the influence? And how much does it have to be, if they go by measuring the alcohol in the victim's blood? How do they establish someone was unresposive, if they go by unscious/nonconsenting versus conscious/consenting?

P.s.: People should just renounce alcohol altogether...

@shelby No no need to apologize my ire was with the idiotic response from @Dxsiree. I have lived in Australia so I was in fact aware of some your country's laws, don't worry about the explanation. A considerable amount of people on this site have no idea what consensual sex is just based from their responses and their inability to separate their innate dominance kink/fetish and rape romanticization. Or in this case their idea of drunken "dubiously" consented sex, drunken mistake mistake, or actual drunken rape. Let alone how that plays out in the real world and it's ramifications. Americans in particular have a very weird relationship with sex, we objectify it constantly, but many don't have a healthy understanding of satisfying consensual healthy sex. JUST what they see from porn, sexually explicit imagery, and word of mouth. It's even more worrisome that people cannot even differentiate what fictionally depicted rape looks like even at its 'tamest' form, then how then actual forms of rape? I've unfortunately experienced being sexually assaulted in a way that does not include some dark alleyway kicking and screaming against my hooded assailant but apparently that's the only form of rape or sexual violence understood by many people.You do not have to read yaoi with an appreciation for non-consented sex to condone rape, but if you cannot even understand the basics of real life rape how are readers any better than the apologists who excuse it in real life when not depicted in a way that meet "their" terms for garnering their sympathy? You don't have to identify with the character, but at least acknowledge the act transpiring.

Just letting all you unknowing peeps know, yi city is where things get taken to the next level emotionally and with character development. You really start feeling for the good guys, the bad guys and everyone in between. But its just the first station on the feels train that is this story.
No main characters die though. But yeah, everyone dies. (Read the novel for spoilers)
