Oh and since we're being anecdotal, let me also share my anecdotal observations: I have witnessed two age gap couples(one of 8 and one of 12 years age gap) close enough to know what is going on behind closed doors, and both of them have been deeply unhappy, dealing with jealousy and generational differences issues. One of them is currently separated, although not yet divorced. Do i claim to know what is going on with every age gap or similar age couples like you do? No. However it doesn't take much thought to consider that people in a similar age group would get along much better, especially long term.
