not being a romance? i think that's dumb af whoever said that bc this does have romance everyone can see and the author has addressed that too. i think genre wise it's more a drama or coming-of-age story than it is romance maybe that's what they meant

The way I thought people were joking this shit was weird. The uke really did get raped unfortunately then left the seme to do some hardcore gangbangs and bdsm due to I guess the trauma just for them to get back together and the uke did get his ass eaten then it was love. All that was unnecessary. The gangbang and bdsm was not needed wtf was that mess.
