and THEN you hear the cheating emperor's murderous mistress/empress was deposed, revealed to be a slave, and executed- BUT not before she screamed to the entire noble court that the emperor was firing blanks- the very accusation he used to depose the first empress, gasp the irony- AND he wasn't the babydaddy of the current crown princess.
the drama of it all. i'd be hanging out at the market all afternoon like, "he revealed what omg" and "she said the emperor was WHAT"

i also like these ones that doesn't take itself seriously. there's a basic fantasy regression plot, you got your groveling and obsessed ML and your baddie marysue FL. you got your Big Angsty Circumstance That He Wishes To Change. it has a nice, well-proportioned art that captures expressions well. perfect, consistent formula.
what i WOULD like to see less of is ML acting cocky & forgetting he still oughta be on his knees apologizing and FL slipping into old habits of babying the ML in social and diplomatic situations. there's some pushback from FL so hopefully we get more of that.

-Likely has been neglected/ostracized by the teachers the entire time he was being bullied but does the right thing anyway and reports the incident to the teachers AND had the presence of mind to also report to the police when that didn't work
-& when THAT didn't work, homie literally went ride or die and broke off a fucking makeshift weapon and was ready to shank someone to help. never mind how he was also shaking in his boots after the trauma of being bullied for so long and also knowing they would be vastly outnumbered if he went in to help hyunsung.

the speed at which the story progressed from the last couple of chapters gave me whiplash compared to the long, drawn out way they kept dancing around this issue for 100chapters lol. godspeed, author.
I don't really have a problem with that, but I wish they clean up the first villain better, like she just died and she was forgotten almost immediately, the one who imprisoned her did not even ask about her or laughed at her misfortune or something
