Ok so i know the story is not perfect and there are issues here and there but i love it, idk they just love each other so much and they’re both so different in the way they express themselves but they still make it work and are happily together, moreover, the top wasnt arrogant but very insecure about different subjects (marriage, lineage, heritage, pretty boys) and its normal seeing how simple he is compared to the extravagant uke. Because in their relationship, the uke has the freedom to do what he wants bcs he’s all alone and theres no one above him dictating his way of life, however the gardener is just a normal employee abiding by societal rules and with a family he has to worry about.
And that explains why he’s so perplexed when uke follows to his family home, because thats an invasion of privacy in real life, and who would do that? Its scary, stalk-ish and invasive. But uke lives by his own rules in his bubble thats why he just does as he wishes, and i realized that even us as reader came to pamper him. But that was probably scary for the top who’s not even out to his family, and in that moment he couldnt let the uke do as he wishes as usual because he was in his territory, his reality and not their closed off manor where nothing mattered. So in that moment they weren’t in their little bubble anymore but in the real world where ppl would judge them, hence the slap in a fit of anger. Which was not okay. But he apologized and they talked it out in the end, because gardener-san, just like the readers and the staff, is too enamored with the uke and spoils him too much, but its cute so its okay haha
Also, Ppl are talking abt the shingo scene where he asks abt who’s better at sex between the two and from my perspective the gardener was trying his best to end the conversation politely i feel like the “no way” was taken out of context and is prbbly a mistranslation, but looking at the mood of the conversation, gardener was trying his best to not go into that territory and it looked like he was uncomfortable with that subject
Also it shows how different is the england couple from the japanese one, they’re more open, more western, they’re extroverts, they’re comfortable with sex and the sex talk, they just have a very different dynamic in general and i feel like it should be taken into account, they honestly look like those couple that would have a threesome with some stranger idk, they also have a b&b where ppl would come and go, so they’re very much out there compared to the other two that are much more reserved in their relationship, and that’s probably why uke was so insecure bcs this is a way of life his lover used to have and he’s afraid that now that they’re there he would miss it and would want to revert back
The thing with this story is that we dont know what the uke thinks most of the time, and we have to wonder alongside the gardener, but then we have to think extra hard an its nice, because we immerse ourselves in the story and we kind of live their adventures with them

Lol i came back here bcs this story is popping again but...
Im sorry but i hate this for soooo many reasons wow, this is one of them lgbt stories for straight people
And that homophobia debate wow, just for them to all stay friends with no conclusion whatsoever... for me it just sounded like a homophobes feelings matter too type situation boohoo
Also, girl stressing out about liking girls for 50 chapters ends up with man, problem solved! Is like putting a bandaid on a bullet hole

Bi is definitely a thing. However due the building of her character and the lack of foreshadowing her ending felt very poorly done.
Bcs of her constant worries about liking girls it would have been nice to see her come to terms with it in the ending, however the way it ended for her just seemed like a cheap escape route by the author idk
As readers, we literally had no clue about her liking boys until her husband appears in the last chapter and its just so lackluster because there’s no conclusion to her struggles as a wlw

The whole point of the manga was to accept that not everyone is the same and not be judgmental. The mangaka makes it clear that it's important to view things from a balanced perspective and understand that what's right and what's wrong is not always set in stone and it's important to accept that different people have different perspective and we don't all have to agree to be able to get along. It's not just about "coming to terms with liking someone of the same gender".
As for Masumi, it's not like she liked only girls in her school years. In fact, the only girl she liked is Kuze. When you look at how her husband is shown, you can see the parallels with Kuze. Both are scatter-brained, low on self confidence and look at Masumi with awe and adoration. Possibly, that's her type. It's likely that she liked a girl because Kuze was a girl rather than liking Kuze because she is a girl.
Also, we see her husband and Touma in the last chapter talking about how it's difficult to be married to a bi person because you are worried when they are with both men and women coz Taichi was dating Kuze before he ended up with Touma.
Same with Kensuke's point of view that he doesn't like the idea of gay relationships. Perspectives differ and there's no reason to look down our noses at people who think differently. There are people who enjoy their fried chicken and others who can't understand how anyone could enjoy eating the flesh of a living thing whose life was cut short just to provide a person 1 enjoyable meal. There is no real reason to look down on or demonize either point of view. If we can't do that much, then we are just replacing one kind of intolerance with another.

Omg you just completely missed the point of my comment didnt you? What intolerance are you talking about? My comment is abt how rushed the ending was and faults i found in the manga
And pls they didnt mention that she liked boys until the ending, that why i said it was bad. Im criticizing the ending and how the author handled thing omg
And pls, not you telling me that homophobia is a perspective and comparing it to liking fried chiken.. what was that about?
(you do realize that that guy beat touma up bcs he found out that he was gay right? And then proceeded to justify his actions in that whole debate scene)

It drove me crazy, how much talking there was in this manga-- Just everybody talking around in a circular conversation that goes nowhere. I wanted the author to do more showing, less telling, and she didn't even show touma at the end. Of course, I know it was supposed to be a pleasant surprise, but it wouldn't have hurt to add at least show us a picture of the happy couple on the last page or something.
Pleaaase i would do anything for someone to pick this up and translate volume 4
