I’m still upset at the mum’s words. My mum also used to constantly say “do it my way or get out!” And she disowned me a lot and took me back all on her own whims so I’m probably biased but isn’t what that mum did horrible? More than an apology is needed. Her child is an adult and she should learn to respect that. (I know she does in the end but it’s more her respecting mito san than her own son)

Yeah that’s my point. A mother should never disown their own child unless they committed horrible crimes. He didn’t commit a crime. She was wayyyy too harsh on him and actually emotionally abusive towards him and that was all brushed under the rug. This needed actual grovelling from the mother and her being rejected for months or even years before slow reconciliation could be considered and achieved.
I think he was kinda justified. I hate unsolicited kindness too. It gives off the same vibes as “you’d look better if you smiled more!”. I just binged this whole thing in one sitting and although the second season art isn’t bad, it’s not great in comparison to the original. If the author was gonna change artists, they should have chosen an artist similar to the original for consistency sake. I had to check several times to make sure I was still reading the right manhwa. The audience shouldn’t doubt whether the character they know and love is still the character they know and love. Also the new artist isn’t as expressive as s1 artist was so I was left confused why they had resting sad face during times they should have been more emotive. I’m still reading it cause I love the storyline but please let this manhwa be a cautionary tale to other authors! The audience won’t like major changes so stick to the same art style even if you change your artists

The way he explained what she did and why her friend got angry is genius. She did it entirely of good intentions but what she did was ruin something akin to her friends “baby” and then say “look mines better!” I will say though that her friend is also half at fault. Had she at any point in time said “look, I’m feeling really insecure about my writing and I just don’t think we should talk about writing or books or anything like that anymore.” Then none of this would have happened. She was stubborn and prideful and it ended up hurting both of them since both of them know Jiah lives her life on a whim and was bound to come up with a crazy idea like she always does. This isn’t to say jiah isn’t at fault. She is. I just think the friend should own up to her own half.

Like why are you still pissed n she's successful now but you can she still feels like she has a bit of control over jia and her writing, it almost feels like she's giving permission to jia to write again but she shouldn't have to have her permission to do so. Imo it's not fair that when people have talent and do things effortlessly the are made to feel bad about it when they shouldn't have to, just because you feel like they don't work as hard as you.
