They mark them with their smell. If they fell in love or desire a male..they either consciously mark them like seolhyun did to hwa or unconscious like hwagok did to leebin

The only good thing about this manga are the baby & the parents!
To name a few annoying things:
1. Why get a call girl as a surrogate? He should have talked to her before hand & get her tested before getting her pregnant, in case of diseases or complications (isn't that how it's usually done?)
2. The ml is rich, so wouldn't he take more care of a surrogate mother, so that nothing happens to the mother & baby? Actually he should have been able to get his son right after his birth.
3. Girl, not EVERY girl is after expensive branded stuff
4. I really don't get why she lied to him after his proposal. For it seemed like she used the baby to get the man.
At first it was understandable, how can send off the baby you raised as your own with some strangers? So saying that she's the mother got her legal rights. But soon it was clear that the kid was dear for the ml & his staffs, so she should jave revealed the truth, if she really had the kid's wellbeing in mind...
He may not have known she was a "call girl" until AFTER she had disappeared with Nicky. Remember, she used Jemima's identity and Jemima had no criminal record and the background check would have come back clear. Though you are definitely right on the medical check. Because even if she had somehow lucked out and NOT ended up with any STDs, a drug test should have shown she was a user. So apparently they didn't so one. And that confuses me, cause that is just dumb (as you say).
Everything else though, you are pretty spot on.

That's the logical thought process we tend to think but at the same time, the opposite is true. The child leanrs that it is okay to have more than one wife from their parent by watching and observing.
In my culture, my uncle is married to 2 women. I hate polygamy. I thought my uncles sons would udnerstand after seeing the wreck of a relationship their parents go through (favoring second wife over first wife). But the sons all either cheat on their wives or married a second wife. It's like an unending cycle because they have bad rolemodels (my uncle) in their life who never taught them good from bad. Of course, many multiple factors also play a role such as the person themself, societal rules and expectations, their environment groiwng up etc etc.
