Idk about everyone else but after turning 18 I didn't really feel much different from when I was 16 or 17, it was just another random birthday. Of course technically you're "an adult" but I mean come on. They met in highschool, they're 2 years apart. I mean if the ml had a malicious intent where he specifically approached mc because he was a "minor" then that would definitely be fucked up, but in this story's case it's different.
Ellen is suffering like hell because everyone she believed would be 100% loyal and trustworthy turned out to be the shittiest bitches of all (except Cesar because that bitch is just nuclear waste). And what's killing her alive is finding out she completely misunderstood Ruby and she was indirectly/directly complicit in ruby's suffering because Ellen believed "her people" and not Ruby. What I love about her is that after the moment she found out about everything she changed and started to genuinely support ruby and apologize for her every action that hurt Ruby.
What I can't understand about other readers is when they say Furiana bitch (whatever the fuck her name is) is redeemable. She disgusts me beyond measure. She can't apologize decently because of her ego. She thinks that being friends with Ellen and having known Idek before Ruby gives her "rights" to be a degenerate asshole towards ruby. SHE HAS THE AUDACITY TO SAY: "I'll apologize to that woman" after Ellen heard their conversation.
