I'm confused, I thought that the uke was You Keika (The blue haired) but apparently its the opposite? It doesn't really make sense, especially after watching the donghua...

Why not tho? It was pretty clear from the start.. Plus that the rols in bed have nothing to do with them being strong or not or dominant or not.. Human are complex, they aren't just dominant and submissive all that time, even if that's what 90% of the yaoi genre hints at. The author clearly wanted to show diversity in their characters.

Just wondering, is it confirmed who's the uke and seme? You Keika (White haired?) feels like the seme to me, but there's rumours saying the author claimed its the opposite.

Duamu Xi (white hair) is the seme. The spirit shadow(You Keika) is the uke. People only thought You Keika is the seme because he announced in the extra that he was the seme. But Duamu Xi countered on the next page that only ukes aggressively claim to be seme. You Keika then scolded him asking if Duamu would die if he doesn't say anything (which I assume means he's scolding him for calling him out)

This I'm not sure. Majority wants Keika to be uke.... But reading the raws, the one oozing of uke vibes is Ki(the white haired). And Ki's counter doesn't make a confirmation that Keika is the uke since he could also be lying like other think Keika by claiming his a Seme. Most of the time in the raws Ki was the more uke.

And here's a typeset translation of the chapters if you're interested ( ꈍᴗꈍ)

This isn't hate to the author, but just my opinion on this matter. However, I don't condone normalised rape (In the main story) abuse, manipulation.
First of all, to the people who haven't read the newest chapter on Lezhin, let's clear some things up. MD states the reason he decided to make Chanwoo go through with making out with that sub, doing things he isn't comfortable with was solely to see his reactions. That's what a shitty person would do. The reason Chanwoo rejected MD was out of fear. Chanwoo's relationships always ended badly, if they went out, he was scared they would end badly and lose ties.
Chanwoo basically confessed he does have feelings for MD. MD confessed he fucked with Chanwoo's head for the sole purpose of seeing the reactions he would get out of him. Let me remind you that Chanwoo had just been abused by former boy friends, used by the sub he thought he had a chance with. He is going to be in a state of distress, and hadn't even recovered from the trauma. Then MD pressured and manipulated Chanwoo to go through something he wasn't comfortable with. I see you Chanwoo haters 'Oh but he should've left if he wasn't comfortable, MD asked twice,' Yes, MD did tell him twice he could leave, but what were the consequences? That he would have to leave MD too, and be replaced. Chanwoo didn't want that, so his choice was to stay. MD is just as fucked up as his other exes, fucking Chanwoo up mentally can be just as bad as fucking someone up physically.
Chanwoo is a victim, MD is a manipulator. Don't tell me that Chanwoo is a slut, or was being insensitive. Chanwoo can do whatever he wants with his body. His body, his choice. He wasn't being insensitive by introducing the person he wanted to date to MD, because all he intended to do was ask for permission, it's not like he could do anything else. He also gives in easily to people he finds attractive, so he said yes to the sub's idea.

agree completely.
though honestly after seeing this side story and knowing her first main story, I think she just sucks at telling a good story. she basically repeated the same arc from Alex and dg. seme is an asshole, does something seemingly unforgivable, but is quickly forgiven. her art is gorgeous though - wow that lineart :9

Yeah, Jiwon/Alex was an asshole who used the uke's admiration to his advantage. He treated him like shit, and then got abandoned, realises his feelings for him, and begs for forgiveness. It was so cliche, and I feel like this manga really could've been amazing, but it became so messy and there was very little character development.

I just read the next chapter on Lezhin. Spoilers down below, if you don't want spoilers don't scroll. SPOILERS DOWN BELOW.
MD did that play because he was curious to see Chanwoo's reaction. Chanwoo rejected MD because all of his relationships had ended badly, and if his and MD's ended, he thought he wouldn't even be able to keep ties with MD. He rejected MD out of fear. I honestly think that MD shouldn't have pushed Chanwoo into doing that play, just because he wanted to see Chanwoo's reaction to it, it was wrong of him to do so. But it all ends happily, so that's alright I suppose.
Can we talk about the level of toxicity, manipulation that the semes (Jiwon/Alex Myung Dae/MD) are full of? This isn't hate to the author, but I think the story is normalising the fact that the semes are toxic, manipulative people.
First of all, Dong-Gyun is obviously a very big fan of the character Jiwon acts as. From my memory, not only was Jiwon a shitty person to Dong-Gyun, but used the fact Dong-Gyun adored him to his advantage. Dong-Gyun has physically hurt and mentally hurt Dong-Gyun, to only after throwing Dong-Gyun away, realise his true feelings for him. He shouldn't be a manipulative and horrible person to Dong-Gyun only to be forgiven almost instantly. We then see he treats Dong-Gyun in a nice manner. But I still think its fucked up that his abusive behaviour and manipulation was so... Normalised. Yes, this isn't a Killing Stalking, Obey Me or a manhwa where toxicity, manipulation, abuse is obvious, but it's there.
And there's MD. He wasn't such a bad character in the main story, but when the side story came, he changed my mind entirely. Can we not normalise the fact that MD put Chanwoo in a tight position where he would have to do two things he was uncomfortable with. Either leave MD, and get replaced by the other sub, or to do the things MD ordered him to do, which he was very uncomfortable with. He didn't want to leave MD, so he had no choice but to do what MD wanted. Yes, MD did give him a choice to leave TWICE, but MD clearly said he would be replaced. Chanwoo rejected MD, which he has the right to do so, because he was scared. MD, in his eyes, was a good person. All his relationships ended badly, and he didn't want to lose all ties with MD, so he decided staying his sub would be the best choice. Why did MD put Chanwoo in such an uncomfortable situation? Because he was curious of how he would react. He put a person who had just been abused by former boy friends, and just used by someone, in even more pain, all for the reactions. If that's not a shitty person, I don't know who is. The slap too, wasn't for pleasure, but more out of anger. MD is a manipulative, petty person, who's abuse is just being normalised.
I don't care if you ship it because yAOi or you love the gAY couples, it's very much two toxic, manipulative, abusive people, who were easily forgiven, paired with two people who are very much the victim. Abuse, toxicity, manipulation should not be normalised. I just think that people should spread awareness, because it's wrong.
Please leave your opinions down below. Sorry if this offended anyone, but this is my opinion and feelings about this manhwa.
Tbh i agree with you. I'm kinda dissapointed with the author on how she planned the relationship of MD and Chanwoo. Coz i feel like it could be fleshed out into something different and avoiding the usual troupe to emphasize the relationship between MD and Chanwoo. Plus, i feel very weirded out on how MD manipulate the situation to gain favor of Chanwoo, and their ending are kinda meh. It feels a little bit..off. Like, the whole side chapters just doesn't feel right. I'm hoping for something more but welp, it is what it is.
The Author is obviously very talented, but I'm disappointed that abuse has been so normalised.
I agree. This story hit really close to home for me, because I’ve experienced something similar. I was “with” someone who was incredibly manipulative and horrible to me. Just like DG, I was so blinded by my infatuation with them, I wasn’t able to see how poorly I was being treated. Also, like DG, if my manipulator had come to me and told me that they loved me, I would’ve forgotten all about the pervious abuse and taken them back in a heart beat. During the first 40 chapters I was really upset with DG. I wanted him to get out of there, to value himself more. I saw him do a lot of the things I regretted doing. The only reason this story was able to win my favor is because Jiwon actually changes. Not like other stories where the characters apologize for being toxic, but continue to be toxic. However, I felt Jiwon’s change was awkward and wasn’t earned, he just was suddenly a decent person. Overall the extra chapters made me more uncomfortable then anything else that happened in the story. But I also agree that the author is incredibly talented. I respect their work and despite its problematic nature, I found it to be a good webtoon I reread often. This was kinda drawn out. Sorry.
I'm really sorry you had to go through that. You're an extremely strong person. I agree with you, DG should really value himself more. Manipulators and abusive people shouldn't be forgiven so easily, it's painful to know people have to go through that. Jiwon's change was instant, and it was uncomfortable that he suddenly transformed into a nice, decent person. I hope you've recovered from that incident, you're an amazing person.
i agree with you about jiwoon i hated him in the beggining he was way too extra with his abusive behaviours which made me cringe kinda of but he changed so its okay i guess........
yeah, I'm really surprised at how much praise this series gets and at how many people think these are normal relationship dynamics. both relationships were manipulative and there are red flags all over the place. in the case of the side couple, a simple 'sorry' wasn't enough to make up for the emotional manipulation md put chanwoo through, and it's fucked up how he allowed his anger to interfere in their play. tbh, realistically i'd say that given chanwoo's history, he's just bouncing from one abusive relationship to another.
Oh, thank you! I never really thought of myself as amazing, it’s been a really long time and it’s easier to identify the toxic behavior the more removed I am from that situation. My biggest problem with this story is that it perpetuates the idea that manipulative people just need love to change. And if you push your love on to them long enough, they will have a change of heart. In my experience, people like Jiwon need professional help.
Preach! Sorry doesn't change the fact you were so abusive to that person, Jiwon also should've let DG have some space, as he hurt him mentally and physically. As for MD and Chanwoo, MD should have more common sense than to put more pain on someone already abused and used. Sorry doesn't cut it.
True, he changed, he said sorry, but that isn't going to chcnage the fact that he hurt DG physically and mentally. Sorry doesn't make everything okay, sadly.
yep thats the true though
