I usually don't like stories that are too sweet, but this works for me. We've all seen the "misunderstanding keeps hot couple apart for years" plot, but this was well done and I love the characters. Pervy Dr. Minori really cares about Souta--and Minori will sacrifice and punish himself if he thinks that is good for Souta. Souta isn't having it. Souta is strong, persistent, and calls Minori out on his crap. It's perfect. And it's hot. Okay, so it gets fluffy--it's still really good.
I really like how dark and messed up this is without being unbalanced. Sometimes, there are twisted stories I really enjoy, but there is one person (usually the uke) who gets shit on and another (usually the seme) who is untouchable (save, perhaps, for a secret weakness for the other). In those cases, I can't help but wish once in a while the tables would turn, and the "untouchable" would find out what it's like to be crapped on, or at least acknowledge they were acting like shit (not just "sorry they hurt the other", but saying they were wrong). Of course. most of the time things just stay one way, and that's fine, really. But I do like a story with balance, even though I prefer twisted to fluffy.
In this story, Rogi lives in a messed up world where people are brutal and he apparently never had morals as such anyway. He's done some really crappy things. But he also knows what it's like to be the one shit on. He's been through a lot. He's paid his dues. And he has real feelings, so he's not a sociopath. He was sincere with the writer, still carries unrequited love, and his daughter is everything. This is a man with heart--a messed up, dark, SM man who uses others cruelly, but still a man with heart. And he's hot.
I think I will really enjoy this story.
Twisted is relative. By dark, I don't mean I'm looking for a depressing ending. I like a happy ending. To me, fluffy is when there is a sticky-sweet approach to the romance. This story is about a rapist who is in the yakuza, and has already shown us the MC's love blowing his brains out in front of the MC while playing Russian Roulette during BDSM sex, and the MC masturbating to his new love while the old love's corpse has not yet cooled. That is not fluffy. To me, it's not a happy ending that makes something fluffy--it's the whole content.
I love Scarlett so far. Her yuri stories strike me as fluffy, but then I have a hard time with most yuri for the same reason. For me, her yaoi hits the right balance of dark elements and complex characters with the desire to see the characters I like be happy in the end.
But to each her own. I like Caste Heaven a lot too.
So if you had to pick a theme song for your favorite side character, what would it be?
I would pick Spy in the House of Love by Was (Not Was) for Kuroda.

I like old songs:
The nightingale by Julee Cruise for: Feilong, Yoh and Tao
https://youtu.be/c8MLRVsoE8w
Your Love Is The Greatest Gift Of All by Michelle Wright for: Asami and Takaba.
Just thought of one for Sakazaki - "I 'm Too Sexy" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P5mtclwloEQ - maybe
Not for a a specific character, but you just have to throw Marvin Gaye's "Sexual Healing" in there somewhere. ;) Not the exact lyrics as such, but the song and the sensual vibe...
ASAMI: At first I thought of Salt N Pepa feat En Vogue - "Whatta Man"? *grins* Just kidding. No, the song I would choose for him is by French singer Guesch Partie - "Etienne". That song was hot as f... The English translation is incredibly tame, the french lyrics are so much more erotic. But you will get the general idea... ;)

AKIHITO: Considering Akihito's strength and resiliance and given all that he's been through, maybe Destiny's Child - "Survivor".
Btw, Sara Bareilles - "Gravity" might have been a nice choice for that time when Akihito tried to run away from Asami, as it deals with the complexity of relationships. Again, not the exact words so much and not for their relationship in general, but the vibe of the song seemed to go along with Akihito's downcast mood at the time. Plus, it's a gorgeous song. :)

I like Musicals, so I thought Unusual Way from Nine would fit Feilong...and then there's Goldeneye. And speaking of James Bond songs, Nobody does it better wouldn't be too bad a fit for Akihito.
As for Asami...

<3 I see your "I'm Too Sexy" and raise you "Sexy and I Know It" by LMFAO. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wyx6JDQCslE
I love Sakazaki, so he deserves twice the sexy comedy. <3

Whatever happened to make Momo's mother the way she is, the fact is she is 100% at fault for not protecting her son, blaming the child, and then selling the child to rapists repeatedly. Instead of recognizing that she was in the wrong and begging for forgiveness, the woman intrudes on her son's life just when he starts to be happy to ask for a ring--not forgiveness, a ring. She makes accusations, and when he reacts with anger (as he should) she lashes out and says things to hurt him.
She's *still* hurting him.
I don't know if her trauma made her narcissistic, or if she has borderline personality disorder, or is a psychopath--but it doesn't matter. No doubt she is so absorbed in her own pain and so concerned about herself she doesn't even think she is wrong to hurt her child just to make herself feel better. The fact that she is in pain in no way makes her less culpable for her actions. She is still actively hurting him. She needs to go.
I do too--but the fact is she isn't taking responsibility for being wrong and apologizing--she's being manipulative, thinking of her own needs and emotions, and continuing to hurt him.
She was 100% in the wrong and unless she acknowledges that and takes steps to try to change, there is no way she is not still toxic.
Plus she was happy to be rid of him--and never cared if he was starving, freezing, or being continually raped. She abandoned him for a "happy married life." She flaunts her ring. She flaunts that she has no money trouble.
So, you've been living well while your son has been a semen toilet for all the men he's had to depend on to survive. Nice, lady. Go and fucking die.
Lets' take a minute to reflect on the fact that Aki mentioned how cold it was the night before all this happened. Aki was on the phone to Asami outside of the club, he was fully dressed and wearing a coat, and he said, "It's cold." Now Aki has been stuck outside on the roof in his undies forever and it's gotta be freezing! Asami is naturally hot-blooded, and I think even his nipples are kind of showing too. Arron brought a coat. Arron would.
Poor Aki--those legs have to be about blue by now.
Kirshima had tents in the helicopter, with extra clothes. He is always prepared. they are a little big on Takaba. now Arron is the one who is suffering. I hear it's hot in Tokyo. Wearing a coat in summer must be tough. hahaha.
I am glad Yata talked about how strong Momo is instead of just pitying him. Momo tried to play it off as if he had just been asking for pity, but Yata told Momo that Momo was strong--and Yata revealed that Yata felt weak. And Yata, who has the sex-drive of a thousand rabbits, wanted to hold hands and just be close. This is one of the sexiest scenes I have seen.
totally agree. I'm so happy we saw this side of him because now I can like him. Hopefully Momo will start living his life and let the past go (which means stay away from his so called "mom") and let's hope for a happy ending. Maybe she will commit suicide (it would be a good ending for her character...and nope,I won't feel any kind of pity, but talking about the story line it would be a good way for her to go )

This chapter is the second time we've ever seen Karino lose it and act emotionally (instead of coolly plotting). It happened earlier in their timeline than when he really lost it and went after Azusa for framing him, but it involved Tatsumi asking if Karino was serious about Azusa. Karino doesn't coolly laugh and say, "As if" or pass it off as nothing. He grabs Tatsumi violently and says, "Not a bit--and you have nothing to say about it!" Methinks the king protests too much. This doesn't mean that Karino is in love or anything, just that there is probably more going on under the surface than we can see. Sure, his expression of emotion seems to fluctuate between bullying sadism and rare angry outburst--but he isn't as emotionally dead as Tatsumi thinks.
I just want him literally dead. One character I'd be happy to see buried.
