i feel a little conflicted with the prince as the ml. the good thing is that the female lead and this prince never had any kind of relationship so he didn’t betray her trust, like the abandoned empress and other novels with the ‘she falls in love with the guy who sliced her head off’ trope, so i think i can warm up to this guy.

i understand why the male lead doesn’t want to tell the female lead about his family, partly because he thinks that she might hate him like his family and partly because he doesn’t think she will believe him (this part doesn’t make sense, but whatever)
however, he has to understand that treating her like shit and not telling her why he’s treating her that way will only create distance and hatred between them. he can’t be surprised when she decides to cut him off because he doesn’t treat her the way a friend should when he’s not telling her these important things, like his family trying to kill him and then possibly her by association.
it’s so funny because one honest conversation would clear this entire thing up. but instead, we get miscommunication tropes for the sake of ~drama and plot~ i really wish authors could make better conflicts for plot.
