The ending left me shook but if we’re being honest, even if it was a toxic relationship, the uke really loved the father. I mean, even when he decides to leave with the son, the moment he has an accident, all he could see was the father crying and it gave him a sense of satisfaction that his love was reciprocated. HOWEVER, despite the low chemistry between the son/uke, it’s obvious that the uke is slowly healing and moving on based on the last chapter where there is genuine happiness and affection towards the son. And that’s why I think, although the ending was a bit abrupt, it was an open ending for development and how the uke will start over but properly this time with someone who reciprocates his love from the start.
BTW, I think everyone that is rooting for the dad to be the endgame is just used to 99% of the yaoi stories were the gentle son is the SML and the toxic dad is the ML.
So glad that the author didn’t go for the typical “everyone lives happy even the evil bitch who murdered and committed all types of acts” route. By killing her, she has gotten rid of literally every future problem. But it did seem just a tad bit rushed if I’m being honest.
This was bittersweet. I can’t describe it any other way. They had sex as always, but it was very sad to read. I saw the raws and he does regret it a lot. This season only has 3 more chapters before it ends and we have a hiatus until season 3 begins.

It has 50+ chapters and you’d think the ML is the emperor but actually, according to the spoilers that come from the novel, the ML is the least expected guy who seems like a SML: the foxy guy with purple eyes who always teases her. When I found out, I thought it was the biggest twist because the cover has MC and the emperor and another guy and there’s no indication that the ML would be anyone but the emperor in the story LOL
