Well he has set up a rendezvous with a vampire for that evening (not related to his bite at all though, just to help out the little girl May, who has said its a life or death situation for her father but Ken doesn't know the details).
Also, where he was working previously had vampire patrons, and his boss is intimately involved with a vampire. Its been said that although the city is vampire free as you get to the outskirts there are rougher areas where humans and vampire cohabit even though its frowned upon by church group in control.
Ken wasn't in cahoots with the vampire who bit him and apparently know nothing at all before that, which seems a bit weird considering his brownish hair turns gold at night time, maybe theres more to his background that we don't know yet or maybe its just yaoi logic ╮(￣▽￣)╭
