He was determined to get Soo Young seriously injured just to make him depend on him, he said as much to Sang Cheol. Even after seeing SY stabbed he got mad at his men for intervening and he let SY believe that he saved him when if it wasn't for Sang Cheol and Minhyuk he would be dead. He's using fear and manipulation to keep Soo Young by his side. He wants to isolate him and make him stay at home waiting for him like a dog. That's pretty fucked up.
