every time i revisit this manga, i can't help but think how akamine is such a fucked up guy. not just because he r*pes the main character, but also when he imagines doing the same to the guy he had a crush on. people say that was out of character for him, but i really don’t think it was. that’s what makes it so smart and disturbing. rapists aren’t always obviously evil. they can be charming, social, even empathetic. and that’s the point, the author nailed that.
i know they’ve forgiven each other and they’re in a happy relationship, and i’m not trying to be moralistic or anything, but still… akamine feels like a really dark character to me but well they both know that and are adults kkk
the story is really heavy, but it’s well written and the characters have a lot of depth. still love this manga and hope the author keeps creating with that unique mind of theirs.
i really liked the redhead’s story at first, but i’m not into love triangles tbh… and i hate reading how the persecutor is playing him, like he’s being fooled or manipulated. so for now, i think alejandro and taeseo are my favorite couple. plus, i feel like the author’s been hinting at taeseo getting pregnant since they first started hooking up, he’s always had that weird feeling in his stomach, and all the omega symptoms (like getting wet and all that) were def giving it away lol
i just found out dear door ended in 2023, which surprised me, it's still always on the recommended page, so i thought it was ongoing. i had actually started it a couple of years ago but forgot most of it. picked it back up around chapter 70, and from there, the story came back to me. i’ve always really liked sid’s character, so i was more drawn in by the side plots.
i gotta say though, i usually enjoy sex scenes in stories but for some reason, the ones in dear door didn’t do anything for me. even with couples i loved, like sid and metatron, i felt nothing while reading their scenes. like, the art is definitely expressive and super explicit, and i can tell the author is doing something unique in the way they draw those moments but i was just observing lol.
also, i never really connected with cain and the mc’s relationship. it was interesting, and key to the story but they didn't move me? i was way more into the side characters and couples, sid/metatron and others really carried the emotional core of the story for me. even the friends unrequited love. honestly, i think that’s what made the story so good: for me, the center wasn’t even the main couple, it was the story itself. and that was really strong.

im crying what's going on on these comments are you kidding me? there are way worse mangas out there where the semes do all sorts of things to the ukes and you excuse it, but you choose this manga to hate on sanada who literally did nothing. the author said she wanted to do a story with the miscommunication trope and thats what this was? yeah ofc uke should have brought up their past but that was the whole plot lmfao. the second chapter made me cry because it was heartbreaking to see how he thought sanada hated him and was only dating him out of pity. both characters overcame their past in a healthy way, so i don't understand the hate in the comments. the uke is submissive and innocent, but i don't think it's that bad its not like he gets walked over by sanada or anything
