What Alex trying to do is fine, has good intentions, but he just slapped the idea at Cole's face like it's nothing and didn't even really pay attention what he feels. I think Cole was pretty open about being uncomfortable even from the moment Alex told him the news. In this situation the asshole is Alex.
If I mixed my own emotions to it, I'd be uncomfortable too and be on the refusing side if you ask me to decide in 5 days. Maybe more time needed Cole to accept it since he had nothing near a sperm donation in his mind. Alex is too much.
