I'm not 100% sure but the way I interpreted that was that the priest had opened the ink pad and planned for the prosecutor to get inked, therefore resulting in him going to the restroom to wash it off, then the father followed soon after (not 100% on specifics been a minute since I read the chapter). I absolutely could be wrong, but I just don't understand why they would mention the ink pad otherwise

i think the prosecutor's denial of his sexuality isn't just because of his outing but it stems from his hatred towards his shallow narcissistic abusive mother,the way he gets so uncomfortable when she gets intimate with him kissing him,putting makeup on and getting to meet probably a bf at ur son's funeral with not a shred of sadness is diabolical ,such a fucked family ,all of them.
