I just love how the first chapter of this story is like a whole story in itself !

I was so focused than it felt weird when the story suddenly went from fantasy to dungeon, at this point I had totally forgotten the plot and was ready to continue to follow the glorious adventure of king Leon

I am reading the story from the begining again, and on chapter 6/7 Jiwoo talks about when he was a boy, and a cat came and comforted him,
And the cat was always here when he was sad
until he disappeared one day and Jiwoo never saw him again

It it very probably just a cute anecdote, but I don't know why, I feel like we are going to see that cat again, and know why he disappeared

Like perhaps the cat was also someone transformed like Kayden (why not Jiwoo's mysterious dad in hiding in a cat's body, who wants to cheer up his son) ? Or perhaps it's a cat that disappeared because it got used to experiment on powers, and we are going to see it again ?

Or perhaps I should stop making theory based on nothing but my imagination

Yk I hate her like everyone, I mean she was made to be hateable, but I like the way the author created this character, with two major traits : a villain and a child

Everytime I read the story, I can't help but see her duality :

She took another woman's husband, she used many ways to climb to the top, and because of her many people suffered. She goes on and on, and destroys other people, without feeling any remorse, so manipulative and horrible

BUT at the same time, she is such a delusional childish person.She has reactions that remind me of my siblings when they were young, like crying when things don't go your way, or not admitting your own faults, blaming others for what you do, or just imagining yourself as a princess in a fairy tale, loved by all

I really think that the reason she is so hated lays in this dual personality of her

She is so manipulative that she even manipulates herself, making herself believe that the world is against her, that she never did anything wrong, and was a victim all her life.
She had an unfair life as a slave, but even after escaping this life, she refused to let go of this image of herself, and used it as a way of justifying every evil thing she did

She is a disgusting delusional villainess who somehow never changes during the story. Sometimes she acts like the villainess she is, and sometimes she acts like a child, and the mix of these two things make her both so hateable AND weirdly pitiful.

So she really is an interesting character and villain in my opinion

This is so depressing, everything that happened to Deon was all for nothing

When you think about it, the whole story is about a bunch of grown privileged adults who are bored and decide to make a CHILD (then young adult) the puppet of their stupid bets

But I'm happy that there is a poetic justice coming for the duke : because of all the situations he put Deon through, Deon is now too strong for him to deal with.

He will never win his bet, and I hope that Deon, the boy he thought was a mere puppet will be the one to kill him at the end

The 2 purest and nicest souls in the world meet and fall in love, and I just die from all this cuteness ⁄(⁄ ⁄·⁄ω⁄·⁄ ⁄)⁄

Cruel's love for Deon is both beautiful and tragic

Beautiful because his love for his little brother never died even after Deon killed their parents. Like he says he should hate Deon, but he can't, because he stays his beloved little brother whom he loves

And tragic because at the end, with all the misunderstandings, he could never properly show that love to Deon
Deon wanted to be loved so much by his family, if only he knew that Cruel loved him he could have survived war with hope

But instead, he had to rely on his madness to survive, and now the situation can't be cleared anymore

I feel for both Deon and Cruel, they are victims of other's schemes

How does the author imagine they can redeem this Ml after that ?
Do they know that they are portraying a toxic story (which is their choice) or do they really think that there is a way of making Mc and Ml end together happily after everything ?

In BJ Alex, the seme was also an ass, but never this much

So I really hope the author is not gonna do the same pseudo-redemption arc in this story that in Bj alex :
Mc leaves Ml -> Ml realizes he loves Mc -> we see Ml's sad past to sympathise with his life -> he pursues Mc, apologies and is forgiven in 2 minutes

I think if they do that for that story, NO ONE is going to be satisfied and even less empathize with Ml. He has been too shitty to be excused because of a pseudo "sad past"

After raping Mc, humiliating him, treating him like garbage,... Ml should suffer A LOT before mc even just accepts to talk to him.

This story really confuses me. It's like the author took the less-liked aspects of BJ Alex, (ass Seme, Uke with low self-esteem) and accentuated them to the point that the rest of the story can't make up for these aspects anymore

But well, I can still be proven wrong when the author decides that they can finally start the character development arc
