No, Im probably thinking there's some mist in the cave/labyrinth, and since our MC was strong he wasn't affected but his friend was. If you think about it, the Murder Clan also used candles to control people, so the materials used to make the candle could have probably came from that cave, and is affecting out brown hair cinnamon roll.
