I think he's just assuming that Kael would feel some happiness knowing that at least the one he loved was happy. Misguided at best tbh but I think that's what his thought process was.

Despite only reading to chapter 7 (there are only 7 chapters out so far), I still don't like the vibes the ML is giving off since he seems to only be interacting with the MC for entertainment (that's just my opinion though, you might think differently and he might change in the future but oh well).

The craziest part about this story is the fact that the MC's author friend 110% used the MC's likeness to write Yeowoon Cha and then not only made him the 2nd ML, he gave the poor guy a bad ending as well. Idk how I would feel if my friend wrote a character based on me and then gave them a bad ending
