Then Cosette's mother went to make a deal with a devil and the devil apparently controls her body ( Cosette) so yuh that's what the rumour said

So Cosette is the daughter of his first wife, and he loved his first wife, but because his family had to remain neutral in all affairs the MC's grandfather kicked out his first wife, and made the father marry the MC's mother. The first wife was pregnant with Cosette, but she died, but a demon said that they'd take revenge and all that jazz.
