As sad as this situation is, I’m so happy that the woman and huan wen met each other. I really hope that this relationship turns out to be an unexpected friendship. It’s just so nice if they could talk about all these things since both are in similar situations and never had someone to talk to about it.
That's...not even true bro. Like for real, they're not "turning", they've never stated they were straight. Have you never been confused about your sexuality? It's also in China. Your thinking is just completely idiotic.
I don't think they are clichés either, it doesn't feel like so, at least, they have real relationships formed between them.
Bro, sexuality is so flowy, you can't just settle, it's super hard. I do'nt know if you've been yourself in that case but it's super difficult to figure things out. I think that when she said he was straight, she probably wanted to say he wasn't going to go after guys himself. Like I said ~China~ you can't blame the author for everything, have you seen that country's mindset ? Don't forget that they are being censored like hell, it's actually hella hard to publish a bl story in China, don't be too hard on them either. They're probably just winging it, hell they had to censor the kisses. I think some stories are way more problematic than this one, but just chill, out man, it's still very relaxing and moving.
I agree I don’t like this “I’m only gay for you“ theme either. I didn’t know that Lihuan was straight bc in the manwha itself I think he said he doesn’t know. I mean idk if I recall this correctly he didn’t even say this: I’m only gay for you. he was more like: I’ve never thought about it, until know.
If the author really said it like that, there’s obviously a right to criticize it. But if I look solely at Lihuans character himself, I don’t think he was straight.
I think it’s not necessarily a negative portrayal. There are lgbtq stories that show how it is to already live in a world where being queer etc. is fully being accepted. And I love that. But then there are also stories that go the more realistic route of showing all the negative sides that people encounter in real life. All the things you listed are not outdated. And I think especially not in countries like China, so I wouldn’t agree even you say outdated. It’s not as if these problems don’t occur daily in a lot of countries.
Also yes yuyangs Family wasn’t supportive at first but isn’t that in a lot of families. Plus there are positive vibes: his family starts to change and accept, lihuans dad was supportive from the start, they are a healthy cute couple living together, having a family. As for uncle pan, I think his commitment issues don’t just stem from him being gay. It’s more like he has had problems in the past which led to his attitude. I see here u are as more of a mix of all things. We have someone that was brave and came out, had problems and misunderstandings with his parents, was bullied but now is confidently gay, happy in love and his family is starting to accept and support more and more. We have someone that still is closeted, someone that wears a mask at all times. Someone that’s afraid to speak out and destroy all he has with his family, society etc. We have lihuan who is seemingly doing everything like he feels being confident and strong, who has the luck to be supported by his dad since the beginning. We have pan that went through all of this and didn’t have that luck or attitude to have relationships like that. Someone that doesn’t know how to be in a serious relationship etc etc. There is a lot of drama I agree. At times I also thought it was being dragged, not gonna lie. But there are a lot of positive things happening too, so I don’t feel like it’s that dramatic and sad and negative. It’s just life. And the characters are just different in their lifestyles and personalities. Also they are at different stages in terms of being gay ( I mean yuyang, huan wen, pan etc) but no one’s experience is fully representing either stage. Bc they are this different
Just wanted to say that the author said on Twitter (A few hours ago) that she’s tired of people illegally posting her works and that she thinks that her current work/manwha will be probably the last one.
She said : Don’t kill the creator.
... do want you think is the right thing (esp for webtoon creators that upload weekly) with this message
Then I’ll say it more clearly: You translators of webtoon manga that is published weekly. Stop translating those manwhas. At least till one season is finished. I don’t know but I thought you don’t get money for it, so stopping won’t be that much of a hassle. If you dont give people the choice, then they have to wait for the Official English translation to come out.
They rlly need to stop bitching ffs. Getting pirated comes with the job. I’m sorry that their naivety got in the way of realizing that it’s been happening for ages and that them just guilting other people for the sake of filling their pockets is kind of a shitty thing to do. Twitter ain’t gunna fucking do SHIT.
I don’t know why but I can’t see the replies anymore so I’m saying it here: if you think it’s something so overly normal and nothing’s wrong with that, than you must not have a problem with her stopping her work because she can’t afford doing it anymore. I mean obviously you don’t care because plagiarism comes with the job am I right
Also the people essentially “snitching” are stupid brainless people that post screenshots where to read it when someone English speaking is asking in the comments of the authors post.
No. They also don't either. They get a hell of a lot more money than you probably think. I’ll repeat my damn self over and over til you understand, them missing out on western and some national viewers isn’t changing the fact that they already have a paying fanbase. “Making a living”? They sign contracts with a company ffs, even with mediocre performances, they at least get some kind of minimum wage. So yes, them begging for more money is them guilting people into filling their pockets. This is the same shit as when Youtubers or streamers donation-shame their fans. I don’t get how you don’t see this. If you can’t understand beyond my brief explanation, then it’s not my responsibility to change your stance. Don’t berate my opinion when it clearly has validity that you can’t see. I’ll leave it at that
As if people like you, who have no problem with being rude fucks are any better to imply or tell me that I need to back off. I’m not the dumb shit who posts the pirated version on social media. I’m tired of justifying the lashing out and guilt-tripping of paying and non-paying fans. If the authors can’t realize for even maybe a minute, that piracy has been happening for literally DECADES then that isn’t my problem. The loyal fans who have the money to throw at their manhwas already do, that doesn’t stop happening. People who have the money to pay for this don’t need to look up pirating manga websites in the first place. Don’t act like they’re (authors) going homeless or some bullshit, because they are very obviously not. I NEVER explicitly said that I think they (Authors) don’t deserve the money they get for their work, nor did I ever state that they shouldn’t be angry. I’m saying they need to stop harassing fans out of their own selfishness and anger. Be fucking angry if you want, don’t direct it to your fanbase. Idgaf if they pay or not or even if the author doesn’t consider them fans. Doesn’t justify a damn tantrum about it over twitter as if it’s actually going to shit (which it never does). Disagree if you want, but make an actual point instead of trying to direct your personal frustrations of the matter onto me.
“Then don’t (be) bitching later if people won’t pay you for your hard work”. But they’re getting paid? Maybe not as much as they could be if piracy didn’t exist, but they make enough to obviously keep creating chapters until they stop because they don’t want to anymore. And Idk where tf you got that I was saying anything to the author? Not worth my time bruh. I’m not being proud or arrogant I’m stating a point that they can’t acknowledge and I’m not going to put myself through google-translating paragraphs of how they’re being immature in to Korean. I don’t consider myself a fan because yes, I don’t pay (very much like you, but whatever). I’m literally only trying to tell people that they aren’t poor poor homeless artists on the street, crying over how terrible their lives are. The authors make a living separate from the portion of viewers who don’t buy it legally. All that them fussing out about the matter will do is paint them to be aggressive assholes. I’m not normalizing something that has been the norm for longer than I’ve been alive. Have you never heard of torrenting???
People stop pointing fingers. Both parties are responsible adults and at fault for this situation. It’s good that chanwoo has finally stood up for himself, said the safe word! Don’t forget though he said it only after MD was kissed, that’s the thing that made him uncomfortable the most. He was jealous. He didn’t want to stop last chapter, consented multiple times and he even didn’t stop this chapter even though he wasn’t liking this whole mess. But he immediately stopped after seeing MD being kissed.
Both need to talk about everything, both need to apologize, both need to let their insecurities go. And both need to stop being selfish, petty, childish. Bish these two make me worry more than alex and dg
Edit: I’ve read it in the comments and I want to add that Chanwoo definitely isn’t mentally unstable, he’s not dependent of md in any way. So I highly disagree with people that think md was threatening chanwoo, when he said this thing with the challenge (which by the way was never his true intention- still the fact that he made it seem like that way is childish and unnecessary but unimportant rn). Chanwoo didn’t accept this challenge because he thought: oh no I can’t go on without md in my life. He wasn’t forced into consenting because he didn’t want to loose him. He accepted that challenge, he didn’t stop even though he wasn’t liking this situation, because he is a prideful person. We have seen Chanwoo, he’s not one to admit his weaknesses, he’s not one to give up. He’s stubborn, even in these kind of situations. But don’t act as if he is automatically unstable and dependent, having abandonment issues just because he had all of these terrible exes. We have seen him and his inner thoughts multiple times and I personally don’t see a mentally unstable, clingy, dependent person.
I don’t want to judge anyone here, if you’re reading this, but where is the rape tag? Because if one manga deserves this tag, then it’s this one and people that come here bc of the gorgeous art, not knowing what kind of disturbing story awaits them, is bad
Edit: I genuinely just wanted to know why there are no tags and why this isn’t included in any kind of “rape/messed up” reading list. Because you can see tags like that in mangas that are a lot less messed up. Even if you say: everyone knows what is awaiting them (which is true for the most people but not for everyone) then there’s still no reason to not tag it. Killing stalking everyone knows what’s going on but it still has all these tags. And someone mentioned royal servant ? i don’t know that one but I looked up and even if there was no rape tag, it was in a rape reading list so, there was at least one indication
Edit2: you don’t need to make any replies anymore. The reason no one tagged it, is probably because everyone already knew that his is a messed up story and therefore didn’t feel the need to tag it anymore. At least I hope it’s the reason.

I love that he has friends that care for him like that and it’s important for him to be reminded of that in times like right now. But I still understand that he wants to be alone right now. Also I’m afraid bc I kinda think he’ll argue with yuan next chapter and tell him that he doesn’t want to see him anymore or smth like that
