I’m conflicted. Ruby didn’t deserve what happened to her, but I also feel that they could have added a little more from the novel to showcase the severity of that moment.
In the novel he dragged her across several glass panels which left her bloody and bruised. When the crowd from the party walked in Ruby was literally on her knees and he had her by the hair. It was a horrible and graphic scene, but it also showed how resolved Ruby was in her current emotions and mindset. Knowing that she set the whole thing up and was willing to take the risk was a cool gotcha moment.

Disclaimer I’m only on ch 18.
I was so confused by Azuma at first. He was jumping off buildings and breaking arms so I assumed that he was an choujin, but then his character intro tag listed him as a human. Threw me completely off. He’s been running around playing hero with basic judo skills while they have actual super humans on the loose. Insane.
Then I was confused again, because I remembered he also used the drug that Tokio used so why was he still human?? They explained further down the line that you have to have an aptitude to become choujin, and that it’s not something guaranteed even with inhibitors.
It’s all so interesting and I like that they don’t just explain everything right away and instead give little details at a time.

She could have easily pulled him out of the way or did practically anything else but stare and scream.

You put boyfriend in all caps because??? Does that translate into super human or something? You guys are acting like I said she should have dove in front of the liquid too when all she had to do was grab his collar and pull him back. I guess that would be too much for an over worked damsel in distress woman.

Realistically speaking, the running and noticing someone approaching him at a fast speed wouldn't be enough reaction time to get someone out of the way especially if you're exhausted. Just bc the reading the panels took a couple more seconds doesn't mean it didn't happen fast enough. Second, Jinha reacted cuz he had ENOUGH time to process what was happening, aka recognizing the threat (he's in total alert now), seeing Hyunjoon get tackled, and lastly seeing the knife. Critical thinking, my guy.

She reacted by then as well? She was calling the police. By the time the knife was pulled out, HJ was already pushed to the floor, which is way after the moment she noticed the guy. I raise to you how Jinha didn’t hear a dude running max speed at him then?
You are nitpicking for no reason. Leave her alone, she’s been a great character and has done nothing wrong.
This manga must be short because taking him out in the first arc is crazy! I thought he would get saved. I wasn’t prepared for this. I thought I had more time. He was one of my favorites.
Or maybe not there are still lots of mystery
