He's going to war with her biological father so... he's remaining cautious that she may be involved. But also the "author's influence" is still having control over him... it's reduced but still there as the more important characters to the story have more control over them.
I like watching her interact with the FML but outside of that this story is horrible. The story interference makes this unbearable to read imo.

Let's be real, they should have accelerated and got a special graduation. These highschool kids fought frontlines making them a more capable hero than those who retire in midst of war! THEY DESERVE BETTERR!! GIVE THEM THEIR PRO LICENSE!!!
