Honestly something about Guwon has always been a red flag to me. However I don’t like how the townspeople just eliminated their own guilt from the situation. We’re “weak” and “cowardly” it doesn’t count cause he’s stronger than us. No, sorry it absolutely does count. Why raise your hand but then try to plead with him to give the kid medicine after the fact? Isn’t he dead because he stole the medicine to begin with? These chain of events are horrid and they are horrible people.
I’m getting kinda annoyed with this story. It’s REALLY good, but I’m frustrated because I care more about the family dynamics than her personal relationships. Obviously, I have my favorite that I would want her to pick but none of the guys would make a horrible choice. They’re great guys, but they get a lot of dialogue and always take up a chunk of the chapters. I just want her to pick one so we can move on.
LISTEN I’m all for 2nd MLs BUT that other guy REEKSSSS of predator! I keep telling myself that there has to be more to the story and their relationship. Maybe he’s not just some old gangster that beat up his dad collecting money while he was an under age higher schooler. Helping him run away from home and escape the crazy bullying is one thing, sexual advances and demanding answers about his private life are another, idk.

Predator??? Taegu’s only about 6-8 years older and was always intended to be second ML. He’s never forced himself on YW or manipulated him into having sex with him like Seoin has. He’s probably the closest character to YW rn since he doesn’t have family/many friends so what’s wrong asking someone you’re close to about their personal life? He’s not some rando ahjussi off the streets, theyve always been very comfortable with each other
Okay but… Taegu met Yeongwoon when he was still in high school. Even if he didn’t "force" anything, the power dynamics are still weird—Taegu was an adult already. It’s not just about age gaps, it’s about when and how the relationship started. Saying "they’ve always been comfortable" doesn’t erase that imbalance. Just because he’s not as bad as Seoin doesn’t make it healthy.
Y’all keep saying 6-8 yrs as if the other party wasn’t a minor when they met. Are you guys ok?? And I don’t need the comparison to Seoin. Current love interests are the neighbor thug or the depressed model. Who’s really winning in that comparison?
Sure it’d be weird if Taegu had been into YW since they met (ie when Yw was still a kid) but nothing indicates that. As for their power dynamics, Yw is now an adult with a fully developed frontal cortex. He doesn’t even work for Taegu anymore. Taegu doesn’t have any “imbalance” over him. The only sway he holds is that they’ve been close friends for a while now. I’m not convinced people would be drawing the same line if they had met, say, when YW was 6 and Taegu 12. And we haven’t had Taegu’s pov, but the fact he hasn’t made any advances on YW yet probably means he feels guilty for liking yw (maybe cause of age, maybe cause of gay etc), and would rather maintain their current relationship.
Tldr it’s fine to be uncomfortable that he’s known YW since he was a kid, but calling him a predator/groomer is way too far. He’s not exhibited any of those behaviours and imo it’s problematic to use those terms so casually

I don’t like to say someone is copying another because these themes are honestly so common, but come on. They could have at least changed the hair colors up.
