Ngl I think she kind of expected this to happen and either 1. Expected them to band together and protect each other or 2. Wanted this to happen so she can tell the emperor to cut contact with the consort and send her back home with cause. Since she has harmed another consort and tried to assassinate the empress, she can be tried for treason, attempted murder and harm of an imperial family member. That’s a death sentence.
