I watched the anime and I generally feel so bad for the mc and hated his "friend". This is a prequel so this probably won't effect him but imagine for a lot of your childhood you thought that everyone hated you and were bullying you.
His friend didn't even apologise. Though I guess the correct response to this is to find it funny, I simply couldn't.
I do wonder though what happened after the manga ended during his rest of his time at school. We have seen how people only idolise him because of who they believe he is. What happens when he becomes more open and expressive?

Me personally would have preferred if the ghost? Was the more overpowering one and still have the protagonist keep his tough personality. If that makes sense?

I must say even if I do want to reread it, I remember the story not being all that interesting to me past a certain point and I cannot commit to 500+ chapters I can hardly commit to 60 chapters. Maybe when I am bored one day I shall come back
