What's confusing about the timeline? It skipped a few years. Hosik likely graduated but he wasn't going back to school so he could work, he was only doing it for graduation purposes. It probably skipped up to show how the family (mainly Hoyeon) developed. Hosik seems more comfortable being Sungyeon's wife, but a little awkward in public.
