I keep re-reading this bc i haven't seen an uke as bratty and spoiled as wooyoung. It's so refreshing. Every bottom out there seems to be suffering from uncontrollable circumstances (poor, sick, in debt, orphaned), from the top (toxic, SA, a literal criminal), or both. It's nice to see a bottom who's a winner in life. I don't get freeloaders like this. Even in a normal, non-apocalyptic society we don't just get things for free. We pay most of it with taxes. Not just income tax, even when we buy things we pay taxes on that too. Roads, schools, infrastructure. Taxes everywhere.

Yes i understand all this that's why i'm baffled why a father would let their child be an illegitimate child. An illegitimate child isn't even allowed to be written in the family tree/genealogy, which means he doesn't have any inheritance rights. A concubine son can at least carry the family name in case something happens to the legitimate children. In the end, I think it's the father's fault lol

the noble men rarely or never marries the maids they impregnate unless he loves her or the child accomplishes something (like becoming an official) so they need to up the child's status by elevating the mother's position. if you're a maid hired for a noble man it implicitly means that you may or may not have sex with him. like once you're hired you're labeled as the master's woman. In china i think these maids were called tongfang which iirc means to have sex.the maids are usually commoners or in some cases from fallen noble families. there's no point in marrying them since there's no benefit to the household and they mostly look down on them. that was just how it was back then.
