the tips of a baby's finger can grow back if cut. i've read about that somewhere. doesn't work with adults though. that's y maomao still have all her fingers but her mom didn't, although both of their fingers were cut.

i recognize a lot of the plants drawn in this manga. the author really did their research on tropical plants.
the flower mentioned, the canna lily is a native plant here in my country. the original species grow like weeds in some places, while more fancy variations of it r grown in homes & gardens.
