It's so unfair because after all of his hard work building his new life, they basically killed him off to fix the problems created by the others! That's what I enjoyed the most too! It's fun seeing the King and his lackey's suffer but building his house, exploring the forest, saving his friends, cooking new dish etc is the best part for me.
But I just loved it when the parents noticed that their child isn't their "child" anymore.

Imagine your boyfriend for a decade disappeared without a trace and left you mourning for 5 years. Then some person guilt tripped and manipulated you into relationship by making you think that you raped them but actually you were the one who's been raped (Taejoo was blackout drunk). So even though your soulmate returned, you felt you didn't deserved them anymore so you let them go and just focused on your new lover because you're a good person and you felt responsible. I'm really just glad the author let us see that Taejoo moved on and became happy.

When I was re-reading this manhwa it really hurt to see their relationship. It was literally built on guilt and torment that was suffocating Taejoo. He was already struggling with the “death” of his lover, but this fucking bitch took advantage of his state and manipulated him into dating him? He literally made him think that he is an awful person and you can see that Taejoo was really struggling :(

This kind of story is plot driven and dramatic that needs to have a good translation to understand better and feel the emotions.
I only read the officials so I don't know the spoilers. So far I think the 2nd prince is more suited to be the emperor though. 3rd prince can live happily ever after with his son and slave wife. Not unless the slave is actually some hidden princess because I don't think the nobles will sit still if the empress is a slave. I don't want them to sacrifice their marriage for the politics.
