I like moka she’s super cute but honestly I’m just bored of this type of character. I want unhinged shoujo fls we need more of this and one’s that don’t forgive their bully’s easily and don’t feel like they need to be afraid of crazy fan girls who have a parasocial relationship with a literal classmate. I feel like every time I read a shoujo every girl is shy or pretty passive which is completely fine but I want to see more women go off the deep end cuz the teenage girl experience is insane and uninhinged and Itd be nice to see that accurate depictions. Also side tangent I’m sick of the mls having this traumatic childhood that excuses their actions like women also can’t have bad experiences with their families???

The scenes with her and Blondie make me so uncomfortable, like she is never considerate of him. Doesn’t matter if he likes it in the end he didn’t want to in the beginning and she pressured him into a majority of the time and constantly objectified him. For character who has instances where they explicitly stated they’re afraid of bulky men cuz her last ex was violent and aggressive. Her being forceful with Areum is insane and it’s assault. She repeatedly pushes him out of his comfort zones and strings him along to live out her fantasies but is embarrassed by him. I understand his actions in the past were disrespectful but take a look in the mirror u are doing exactly what others have done onto you by objectifying him and treated him as a sex object for your desires rather than a person who has genuine feelings for you. Idc what anyone says she sexually assaulted him when he explicitly stated “no, stop, or wait” it doesn’t matter if he ended up discovering he liked it (imo just poor writing) this could have easily have been a consensual relationship has okjae just discussed the things she wanted to try before just forcing it on him in the moment.

If you’re someone that likes angst but is sick of it being used poorly in stories with little depth and you want actual character development and motivation then READ THIS. If has a happy ending too. It’s so well done I’m the type that usually dislikes miscommunication tropes but this was done so tastefully and made sense in the context of the story cuz skylar was in an abusive household. Even the mc goes through tremendous character growth and as the reader we understand why he was timid and depressed from the consistent trauma from violent bullying. Genuinely wish there was more. Yes skylar was a completely terrible person in the beginning but looking at the way his mother manipulated him and tricked him into hating the one person who truly cared for him (mc) is classic narcissistic parental behavior, isolating their child from the people around them and taking control of their life through mind games. The groveling phase was also great and I’m glad he genuinely apologized to mc even if his home life was the reason. Overall an amazing read
They’re def a cute pair and the characterization is honestly really good which keeps me going. But the world building and pacing is just weird like to me it just feels like they’ve just suddenly fell in love bc they both had a hard life and personally I hate when I’m reading/watching a piece of media and they tell me everything abt a characters thoughts and emotions rather than giving subtle nuance slowly which kind of bothers me here but it’s not so blatant I can’t enjoy it. I’ve read better but this isn’t bad either the art is also really good
