They're twins but not blood related. Basically the mother wished for john because she gave birth to a daughter instead of a son like her husband wanted, So she broke one of the tablets and wished for a son so you could say john was created and not born. So i guess this is a legal ship but its a little weird since they grew up thinking they were blood related but eh love is love in this fictional world.

and the brother if I recall correctly is actually the demon. the son that the mother wished for was given to her but as a demon, and the brother knows that too I think he knows what he is and in so was able to fall in love with her
but don't quote me on this because I may be remembering somethings wrong.
i really liked the art when it showed the scene of the carriages and the people that was in horizontal form. it looked nice
