But in the first chapter, what Gozu recognizes is the situation and Eve's name, and he assumes his appearance is just what he looks like when he's younger. If you look at the appearance of the demon king in the references to the game in the first chapter, it looks strikingly similar to the saintess in recent chapters, and Gozu says at some point that Eve looks more like the saintess from the game than the weirdo guy who showed up claiming to be the saintess
