No because it's the fact that they are both just taking turns raping her. She says no, she means no. She has had consensual sex with both of them at different points (I'm pretty sure, didn't bother actually reading most of the sex scenes cuz they were pretty boring cut and paste) but there have been way too many times where the act was started and she clearly said no (it doesn't matter her reason for saying no or if part of her "actually wanted it" by the end, because the other part clearly didn't).
Initially, she didn't have an "affair" with his brother, she was raped by him multiple times and then he acted like it was an equal act.
Honestly she's really just treated like an object for these two guys to fight over.
Anyway, you can't convince me this isn't a story about an emotionally and sexually abused woman.

Realistically, if Riftan wants to protect Maxi "from herself" kinda and how she rushes into situations that she doesn't actually know how to handle, he needs to give her an actual position and job in these scenarios so she can feel of use and busy while being out of danger. Because as she has shown, when left to her own devices, she has a tendency to get in over her head due to her lack of experience. So logically, she needs to gain experience from a safe distance to avoid these situations.
I won't lie, this is still controlling behavior but when it comes to violent and dangerous situations, he is the commander guy so it's appropriate.
But he also has to drop that control when it comes back to their everyday lives and allow his wife to leave the house. Riftan has wayyy too much anxiety in this regard for his relationship to be healthy so those trying to fully justify his actions seem real silly to me. Some of his control IS justified (like I mentioned before with the dangerous battle-y situations) but the rest is not and just categorizing one or the other as "completely in the right" is totally missing the fact that they both need to grow in this situation and that Riftan's actions could make it harder for Maxi to grow how she needs to

Seonwoo definitely feels autism-coded to me . . .
I'm not saying he like actually definitively is, he just has a lot of traits that overlap with autism symptoms and signs that I (as a person w/ tism) really relate to and it makes me just love his character even more
(And even if it isn't autism, he's defo not neurotypical imo)

In other news, sometimes I see the antenna that are Mr. Jeong's eyelashes and have to laugh

Okay I honestly love that Bayan's still doing things and that her life and thoughts aren't suddenly all consumed by motherhood
But could she spare her daughter more than a single thought? And why can't we have a wholesome father daughter relationship where he loves his daughter as a doting father? It really feels like they haven't shown a single ounce of affection to this baby since the moment it was conceived
It managed to focus so much on the parents during the pregnancy but never address any feelings they had about their baby or becoming parents and that trend has just continued up until this point

Lol she's definitely whiney and I can see why people find it annoying
But it's honestly a shift in her character to kind of show how stress free her life is now compared to before when she was dealing with all the life and death stuff all the time
Also I think it's funny the people bring up her past studying to complain about why she's whining but she definitely whined back then too (whining about studying has been pretty consistent throughout the story I think, especially when it comes to math . . . So maybe my other point doesn't really stand as well)
She enjoyed literature and social studies but despised math if I remember right

Anywho, I hope she chooses to stick with the treasury job, at least until things stabilize, out of loyalty to the overburdened workers. I hope she stays long enough that the emperor regrets assigning her the task cuz she has no time for him anymore cuz that's just the kinda petty drama the feel right for side stories

(Still mad about the complete lack of baby/parenting content tho)

I was actually kind of excited for her baby to be born but in the end was ultimately disappointed . . . There was an attempt made to show the depth of love that she felt for her baby and how that connected her to her mother, but the baby felt all but forgotten or more like an object that a precious being even right after she had given birth.
Ideally, a baby actually shouldn't leave their mother's side right after birthing and should actually be allowed to find their mother's breast and immediately start nursing. This is pretty important developmentally and should and can take priority before even cutting the umbilical chord or cleaning the baby. There are exceptions of course if the baby needs medical attention, but other than that, this is one of the healthiest labor progressions. (Tho it's generally overlooked especially in hospital settings)
Anyway, I wasn't even too bothered by the fact that they took the baby away, but more so that she just wasn't even looking for her baby right after giving birth which I feel like is the natural reaction when you pop out a baby that you've been waiting for for 9 months (if you wanted it in the first place that is)
She seemed too busy being romantic with her husband which makes me question whether there's really room in their relationship for a child, and also based on the jealousy expressed by her husband (towards a literal newborn) I'd probably say that no there isn't

I've been enjoying this story ofc and it's probably one of my favorites, I was just really looking forward to this aspect and I just felt like it really fell flat emotionally :

Turnip created a topic of Vanilla flavour, please!
Lol

Idk it might be a cultural difference but I feel like it's way more normal to just be like "oh my sister 's in town, so I'll probably be busy for a while until she leaves"
Instead of being like "oh yeah gotta go meet with uuhhh . . . . Someone." And then never explain why you're so busy meeting with this other person that you won't even name
I'm not really upset about this kind of cliche tho, I just think it's really silly lol
