She's written so well, imo <333
Even tho she's been advocating for healthier standards for young girls and women, she's shown to still be susceptible to the same toxic patterns of thoughts which is so real and relatable
They're an imperfect couple that have their differences and their own preferences but they're working hard to be together and growing and that's why I love this couple so much q.q<3
It seems like when a bottom is always pushing for sex, he's seen as insensitive, even when he's respecting his partner's boundaries but when it's the top, it's just typical yaoi at that point and no one bats an eye even if he's being forceful or coercive
I was really hoping we were moving in a positive direction communication wise but Riftan is still being so dismissive of Maxi that I'm actually getting irritated
Omfg
I swear every comic I read is just full of negative comments and it's really starting to fuck with my head . . .
These new developments really don't feel like just unnecessary drama, its addressing real, modern issues through this fictional lense and it's doing it really well. It was the same with the sexual assault case with the king's first wife. Now it's addressing body image and specifically how it relates to our main character and the original Abigail's childhood and it giving so much insight to the past behaviours of the character, making them more 3D. This comic is doing the same thing it's been doing from the beginning and I'm just sooooo here for it and I love it, and it feels like the people complaining about drama just want a very light read with two-dimensional, flat characters that'll just make them feel good (which is totally fine ofc, but this just isn't that story, come back to this when you're in the mood and can keep up with the vibes, and maybe reread the chapters all together, cuz I know that reading them update to update can make things feel drawn out and poorly paced)
Honestly, these new developments hurt my heart but it just makes me more eager for a resolution to the arc and their eventual happy relationship and that's because I'm here in the story and not looking for it to be something it's not.
So glad to see at least a few newer comments in support of the FL :>
I mean, it's fine to not like her, that just means this isn't your kind of story, but some of the critiques has me wondering if some of these commenters are even literate or able to retain basic plot information
Like . . . I really would understand if they hadn't completely explained her motivations as a character, and what knowledge she has that she bases her actions on, which 100% support her actions
And I think one of her strengths as a character that sets her a part from so many basic FL characters is how rational she is. How regardless of how she feels or how kindly she is treated, she won't risk her safety on the possibility that the original character's plans have changed. I'm excited for when her newfound family proves that she can trust them, but that can't happen until she properly runs away from them and they show her that they (specifically her father-in-law) would choose her over the plan he originally had in mind
Basically, all her actions just prevent her from being used as a pawn in other people's schemes I think it's really empowering to see that in a FL and it's sad that some people can't see that
Okay so I kinda get the people complaining about the villains and how they seem ridiculous and how people are like "how were they able to execute their plans and get away with it before but now they just seem really lame and stupid?"
But it really just shows that all the power they had was because they had complete control over the FL, restricting any access or communication to her powerful family kept her weak and ignorant so they were in complete control of her and her family, who were also kept in the dark while they were sabotaged from the inside and stripped of all their political power.
It was genuinely a methodical and well thought out plan but was completely ruined the moment she was reincarnated and ran away cuz the entire facade that these people carefully crafted instantly began to crumbled away and started falling like dominos.
I like that even though the FL reincarnated, she still is very naive and sweet by nature and actually shows proper signs of neglect as far as her intellect and emotional maturity goes. She also isn't aware of the entirety of the villain's plot or their motivations, she only knows how it all ended for her, meaning that she's still operating in the dark-- especially in this new environment where she has very little idea of what took place in the future. It also means there's a lot more reliance on the actual adults in this regard to fix things and take care of the villains so the FL actually has the opportunity and freedom to behave like a child. She still reveals important knowledge that advances her families political standing and resolves plot issues, so it still has that satisfying reincarnation story vibe but without so much reliance on the FL for every little thing.
So in that regard, it may seem like the villains just fell all on their own because the FL didn't have to jump through hoops to reveal their evil deeds, instead that was up to her family. And in actuality, the FL was actively trying to hide how she was treated for fear that it would reveal a fundamental flaw in herself and lead to the same treatment and abuse in her new home, because she genuinely thought that's how someone like her should be treated (yaknow, a very real anxiety that stems from the kind of abuse she endured)
So to people who are used to the FL doing everything and carrying all plot developments in a story, it may seem like yeah, the villains were just kinda useless and just disappeared at the first bit of opposition, but in reality, her family consists of pretty well written characters who actually play an active role in the story and are able to move and resolve plot points independent of the FL while their actions still revolve around her. Personally, I think this rounds out the story pretty nicely while still keeping it an easy and light hearted read
Are they ACTUALLY going to talk? FOR ONCE? Maxi is being very obvious about her feelings so I swear to go if the author has Riftan do the whole "thick headed, doesn't get it, what's her deal" thing or misunderstand or something dumb again -
Idk I'll probably just cry q-q
Like, I know in comparison to some other miscommunications, Maxi's jealousy here maybe isn't as serious but it'd still feel good to see them properly discuss one of the things she's been bottling up kinda since the beginning of the story when she heard Riftan had a proposal to marry the princess.
Or even if they don't fully discuss it properly cuz that's probably asking too much of these idiots, at least just address it and resolve it properly
