At the end of it all, Juhan still got what he wanted, he managed to isolate He Gu from everyone but him. Even the way he “gave up” in the end was still selfish. He wanted someone who would live for him and he got it. I hated reading this but I can’t stop and ended up finishing up lol

I’ve always like Noella for some weird reason. Honestly, all three siblings including the father are crazy and unhinged, Noella just directed all that crazy towards her family esp to the FL (might be because she’s the only one who is in the house with her all the time unlike her father and brother who’s always away) while the rest family has a sense of kinship towards one another and directed their crazy to people outside the family.

I wonder if all this effort to get the successor position is so that MC would finally acknowledge and look at her? In that scene in the bedroom, she seemed to be genuinely bitter about receiving less attention than Kayden

She’s genuinely so obsessed with MC and barely interacts with anyone else in the family that I wouldn’t be surprised if she views only MC as her actual family (not just nominal)

I think so too. I also think she thinks that she doesn’t have anything to call hers like her family aren’t affectionate, he fiancé was in love with her sister and her dad didn’t placed her anywhere in the family business unlike her siblings which makes her think that she doesn’t have a place in the family. Noella doesn’t understand that the family dynamic is just like that (unaffectionate but there for each other in times of need) while her siblings understand that perfectly.

That makes a lot of sense. I wonder if also, she’s manipulative in the way she is because she has nothing to her but her face? MC and the dad definitely didn’t seem to try to nurture any strengths in her, or it would have been mentioned by now. If anything, she seems to have lived in an (supposedly) unstable position dependent on her ability to appeal to other people’s pity. Maybe she feels that the only way she can get anything (including attention) is with it and lying, since she pretends even around her own family, who definitely seem to have made it obvious that they can see right through her. She seems to have not gained any goals or skills of her own outside of trying to get that acknowledgement, too.

I wonder (given the society in that type of setting) if she thought she was going to be raised only to be used (perhaps by her sister) as a pawn in marriage? I can’t help but feel that she thinks there’s not a single bit of familial affection given to her. Specifically, I’m thinking of that part where MC talks in the bedroom about feeding her, clothing her, etc. With MC’s own money (dick move from the dad tbh). Noelle didn’t seem to be surprised, so maybe she didn’t seem to see it as an altruistic act and thought that like everything else (since she doesn’t know the novel), it was for some monetary gain or to prevent rumors of abuse in the Sergio family

I agree. As you have said, she might’ve been thinking they’re housing and feeding her to use her. The thing is even the FL has a distorted image of her own father, we can see this at the first chapters where her supposed fiancé to be got stolen by her sister. She immediately thought that the father will be think twice of letting her be the successor and will be impressed by Noella when in actuality, he was a bit mad at the guy for doing that to his daughters and he’s resolute at letting the FL be the successor because it’s her rightful place as a legitimate child. Even the FL thinks that the father only see them siblings as pawns and she was only allowed to be the heir because he thinks she’s the most capable but the thing is the father cares for all of them in his own twisted way. Noella is not unreasonable if she thinks her family is only tolerating her to use her as a pawn, they never let her do anything in the family business when it’s clearly their kinda way of bonding and they don’t interact with her the way they interact with each other. She does seem the odd one out in the family and even in the high society, she always gets compared to her older sister as she’s extremely capable and beautiful while she’s only beautiful and kind (which is only a trait that she wants them to think)

Can somebody give spoiler why this is tradegy?

    i wanna know too

Also here for the spoilers so I can stop reading this. It’s become tiresome.

Maybe the tragedy is that she’ll marry the manipulative jerk rather than a devoted knight? Because she “thinks” his love that of a knight. Yes ma’am that’s why he slept with you… ┑( ̄Д ̄)┍

Aww. Baal had the best character development in the story, he was supposedly a demon who’s devoid of emotions but he came to love them. He doesn’t even want Dietrich to use his powers bcs he doesn’t want to eat his soul anymore.

How are people so bothered at the incest-est thing but not at the fact that she married the boy she basically raised? Her mind is an adult so it’s weirder than the “incest” which really doesn’t bother me that much because they really weren’t treating each other as brother and sister right from the start.

    Tako April 13, 2024 11:45 pm

    Yah same.
The "incest" doesn't bother me much bc both know they where not real siblings. She since the beginning and he after 2-5 years and before that also didn't had much sibling feelings. So the feelings he developed were for this girl not his sister.

The other things yes. She knew him as an adult, then as a child and then again as an adult. But tbf she didn't started liking him in that way before he was of age, so maybe that makes it a bit better. Trauma bonding and stuff.

I think this is just one of those "reincarnation" stories where the reincarnation is just to help the plot and not the sense of the story. Its just an easy way to start. I mean they are instantly adapted to that live and after like 50 chapter it doesnt get mentioned again. They are often a bit weird and the reincarnation rarely makes sense especially in the whole picture.

I agree. I get why authors do it. Reincarnation/regression trope has its own fanbase at this point, so writing it into the story would already garner some readers. Plus it doesn’t really do much for the plot except make it easier for the author because the baby’s actions can just be explained as her being reincarnated.

I wish the focus is more on the mom/daughter reconciliation and the mom’s amendments of the 1st timeline, it just seems like the mom and daughter are on a different path that just intersect every now and then.

I was wondering why she looks weird sometimes and I just noticed. SHE DOESN’T HAVE A NOSE around 70% of the time.

Omg ☠☠ I just realised too, I felt weird too I thought author just isn’t perfect in drawing kid’s face so brush it over

Applecreampied March 21, 2024 8:46 am

So basically the villagers were the first victims of the story that the kids were writing and the rules also applied to them (cant stop the children nor suggest where the story should go etc) which is why they kept hiring teachers so there would be other targets that even if they were sucked into the story it wouldn’t hurt or affect them that much. This is just my theory tho
