The sunbae's reasoning is straight ass. The same energy he's putting into that whole charade he could easily just tell the MC he doesn't like him. I get there needs to be something to tie the plot together but this could've been done differently without this low level plot device.
Also why is it that whenever there's 2 options the author nerfs one by making them horrible to justify the other choice. Lazy writing.

Gonna trust the process with this one. Not a fan of this kind of self harm unrequited love. Maybe it's because I'd never let myself be in that position so it's hard for me to empathize with the MC. All I'm thinking is he should grow a pair and beat the shit out of that fool but I shall give him grace because people apparently get dumb as shit when in love

Omg yes pls do. Haekyoung is stupidly in his one-sided love, but once he realizes that there IS someone who genuinely loves him and doesn't want to use him, he starts to gain confidence and self love. He doesn't immediately let go of his first love, but he learns to move on and even talk back to Kwonyoung (first love/the younger brother).

Saw spoilers and it seem like the author is going to keep throwing hurdles at the main couple. They haven't even talked about their family issues and they're still having these unimportant setbacks with the possibility of another guy entering the scene. At this point this webtoon gonna go on forever like "How to fight" or "Windbreaker".
These authors gotta know when it's time to start resolving issues when there's enough back story to the characters.

If authors so insists on red flag MLs then I wish they'd at least let the MC know this from the jump. Not make the MC fall for who they thought was a nice person who turns out to be scum so the MC is now attached to them based on the feelings they had when they thought the ML was a good person.
I don't have a problem with red flag MLs just with the fact that us as readers are being shown that the MC is obviously hurt by/scared of/dislikes the ML and they go back to them.
I'd respect these stories more if authors commit to a proper red flag ML who didn't do a 180 midway through the story.
Also not disparaging this webtoon just a thought I had after this chapter.

If you'd read properly and use your critical thinking skills you'd understand that this comment wasn't particularly directed to this webtoon (as stated in the last sentence) but a general thought bc that's the same dynamic we've been getting a lot recently. Also no I don't wish the author wrote a whole new story.

girl byeeee even if it’s a ‘general thought’ you posted it as a comment for *this* webtoon? that’s the critical thinking skills you’re talking about, you know, incorporating context. not that i expected you to have any yourself but you would think a mf would practice what they preach, you really would lmfaooooo
Started this bc I saw the chapter where she overheard about the bet and wanted to see how that unfolds. Well I should've minded my business. The ML requires no lashings from me we all know he's trash. Moving on, I tried to be understanding of the MC's naivety in the beginning cause she from the country side blah blah blah There's only so far stupidity can go.
Me personally I was hoping she'd attempt so the ML is guilt ridden so much he dies
