when someone truly dies, both the body and the mind are gone. The body rots and the mind/soul completely leaves right? Body becomes like an eggshell without the egg inside. And I believe the org Hikaru died and his soul completely moved on to the afterlife so now he’s a brand new person with no connection of his past life. It’s like a full reset. He might’ve been reborn as a human or even as an animal or maybe gone to heaven. We don’t have any info on that so I can’t say for sure.
in this case, the current ‘Hikaru’ is living with Original Hikaru’s memories right? ( Idk how that’s work tho ) He said he’s not sure whether his feelings are the org Hikaru’s or his own. Personally, I think everything he feels for Yoshiki is his own. Caz if the org Hikaru hadn’t completely died and some part of his soul mixed with this ‘Hikaru’ then it’d be like two Hikarus coexisting in the same body and in that case, their feelings could mix. But since i believe the org Hikaru is completely gone then these feelings are 100% this Hikaru’s

People are saying, “oh the ML doesn’t do anything!” Bffr. He’s the one that initiated things in their relationship 98 percent of the time. And the two percent is FL getting a boost of confidence either on her own or had to be persuaded by ppl around her. The whole reason they’re even together now is cause he pursued her. Yall forget they even had to do a trial relationship for FL to say yes. Even in the latest chapter she had to be convinced by a friend. Anyways they’re both teens who are still immature and have normal emotions, make stupid decisions/mindsets, and will make mistakes. I’m more side-eyeing those adult readers who still have such extreme standards and don’t use their brains.

To further elaborate, metaphorically, I see “Hikaru” as a queer teen who is somewhat open about his queerness. He understands(?) why homosexuality is wrong and he’s seen how people respond to it, yet he can’t fully control how he feels even if he’s aware his feelings are capable or have already hurt the person he likes. Yoshiki is closeted— fearful and anxious of what fully accepting homosexuality will do to his living circumstances, and Asako ( as shown in latest chp ) is still unable to fully comprehend the concept of queerness, despite that she’s still willing to tell Yoshiki to be more open about who he is even if that leads to him being seen as a demon or whatnot.
But what about Kurebayashi? Is she supposed to represent a woman who’s dealt with someone who was homosexual in her family before and has seen what cons came with it but despite that is trying to help others? But even then I’m confused with my own process of thinking.. any thoughts?( ̄へ ̄)
