Before that, this chapter is the answer for people who thinks Bihwan doesnt see Minchan as his own self. (Even tho its so obvious before this chapter too) Bihwan doesnt think/talk about Seoho anymore whenever he interract with Minchan in the recent chapters. He actually enjoys his time with Minchan.

I'm 80% sure Bihwan gonna pick Minchan over Seoho if he must save one soul for that body

I'm hope we'll get a glimpse of Seoho, maybe his consciousness take over Minchan body for a bit before he's gone again, saying goodbyes to Bihwan properly and for him to move on

Also someone already said this, but I really like how the author made Minchan and Seoho has entirely different personality. Its just that Minchan's body fits to be Seoho's vessel. For me this is important because Minchan has no connection to Seoho at all. Even when they look similar, they still feel so different. Maybe one of the reason Muyeol picked Minchan is because of his appearance too, given younger Minchan has darker hair (not vibrant) like Seoho

Anyways, I'm excited for what's to come and I hope Bihwan can solve this without unnecessary drama. I hope the author will give them more depth in exploring their love too. Also I need to know what happen with Minchan's granny, like is she's always in the closet this whole time and until when. Did she really died at this point hshshs

(Another theory, but more like, delulu. Maybe Muyeol will end up with Seoho in the afterlife or something something far away as spirits. If Muyeol really wants to be Seoho and/or Seoho actually has deeper feelings to Muyeol than Bihwan)

author posted all the couples on twitter and lowkey confirmed that hyunjin (pretty guy from the second couple) is the bottom… and by confirm i mean i am deluding myself into believing that the placement of the characters aligns with top/bottom lol… fingers crossed

Okay, I’m going to focus on S3 because that is the most convoluted season of the three. I will quickly add that despite heavy dramatizations here and there in S1 and 2, they were pretty solid in their plot, character development, story building etc. I really did enjoy them a lot.

Now, S3 -_-

I mean it was fine. It was. If we get into the nitty gritty though. It was pretty bad by this author’s standards.
I know they’re capable of crafting a great story with incredibly complex characters, to a point where they’re almost chillingly real, but it seems that in this season the author kind of forgot who Cirrus was along with some others in her cast. For the first time in the story, I felt like I couldn’t understand their actions anymore. In some parts it almost didn’t feel like the characters I had grown to love in S1 and 2.
Also, more than a story, it felt like a collection of moments. Which can be masterfully executed if done well, but here it really just felt like simply that. Moments in their lives. Unresolved conflicts, and if resolved, in an unsatisfactory or underwhelming way. I wouldn’t really blame the author on this particularly. I think it’s more of a circumstance of the setting.

The author, in their beat attempt, tried to tie things up nicely, but it doesn’t work because at the end of the day, these are still high school kids. You don’t have everything figured out by 18. It would be foolish to think that everything in Cirrus’ and Skylar’s lives was resolved by the time they graduated highschool. I think that’s my biggest critique of this story: there wasn’t enough time to bring everything together because they are atuck at the high school age.

I think S3 would have worked much better if it had been a collection of moments of their ADULT lives.

I really did enjoy s1 and 2 so much, bringing tears to my eyes even. But it’s auch a shame that the growth and story of these characters was stumped by the setting in such a large way. Also, I am inclined to believe that the authors health and factors such as time and publishing pressures could have contributed to the plateu of this story.

But hey, at least we know Cirrus and Skylar are happy. Even if we don’t know the extent of it.

jihwan is unwanted huzz

it's marked still as ongoing, so i hope to see more abt touma's & hayato's. not the part that they're loving or being romantic, the part after touma died and hayato's reaction after it.

it's ongoing but hayato really left a bad taste in my mouth. really. i cried when touma told yuuma his story, his revengeful actions are not right, but his past story really teared me up. he became a vengeful ghost because he did not get chosen. after years of pain, hayato finally possessed his modern version to tell it to touma, he just glossed over how he loves the uke, but i never really felt it.

i hope to see touma getting reincarnated and meeting someone who is not the incarnation of hayato. hoping he will meet someone else who will made up all of those pain he endured and felt before.

+ i doubt it's still possible since yuuma said that touma already passed on, but i really hoped touma will apologize to what he did to yuuma before. yuuma is innocent, and after being a vengeful spirit (touma), and finally achieved small part of happiness of finally meeting with hayato's soul, he should have said sorry to touma & kaito. because for me, touma is touma, yuuma is yuuma. same with hayato is hayato, and kaito is kaito.

I remember dropping Checkmate back then, but coming back to it was the best decision ever. I literally haven’t slept just to finish this story it completely consumed me. The angst, the obsession, the quiet love, the tension everything hit SO hard. It was emotionally messy in the most satisfying way, and seeing how it all came full circle? I’m sobbing. This manhwa really stayed true to its title—Checkmate in every sense. I’ll be back to reread this one day, just to relive the wreckage all over again.

Like never have I ever thought I would actually resonated with a TOXIC BL TOP. Although the rape thoughts is ofc fucked, it perfectly encapsulates how much he loves and hates Mc. For being the first EVER person who introduced him to love and suddenly 'leaving' him behind. It's like the murder thoughts when you absolutely despise someone, it's just that through the influence of his fuckass brother, sex and all these debauchery became his coping mechanism.

Istg please they just love each other so let them be. It doesn't matter if they're stuck in the past, TO YEARN FOR SOMEONE AFTER ALL THOSE YEARS AND AFTER ALL THE PAIN IS LOVE. PLEASE DON'T DRAG ME BACK TO THE PADDED ROOM I SWEAR THEY DESERVE EACH OTHER. THEY CAN MAKE IT THROUGH.

So eastern khallak, from what I interpret this is the statuses within khallak and where places are set or whatever, I commented here before ABT where places were located but I was still confused back then and still am now. I'm tryna make sense to it in my head so take all I typed with a grain of salt.

- sylhan's dad was a former lord of a land or role in khallak which I forgot about, sylhan attained this role before he was set to rule khallak and after his father served the role.

- lord stravin is gjord's father, he had gjord from a slave girl that's why gjord was sent to war at a young age and not treated by loyalty for his early life
