Yeah, I'm not changing my rating. This is a shit show that is trying to turn itself into a typical love story. At this point, I'm disillusioned; like a "Meh, let's just finish it up"
On the other hand, I'm genuinely glad for the people who were able to see past the copious amount of hot dog water that was the first arc of this story. I hope y'all get your lovey-dovey happy ending.
Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm gonna go read BJ Alex again to get a story that actually has a *plausible* redemption arc
Oh, I'm not saying they're not lmaoo Trust me, I've acknowledged before that this author has a thing for torture porn. It's just that BJ Alex didn't have it go so far that the redemption of the ML didn't give you whiplash.
We who read BL are no stranger to toxic shit, as you already know, but JK had too many chances to not be an asshat. But now I'm supposed to root for JK and Dan...because the story needs to end on a happy note? Nah, slap a sticker and send it back - express shipping
Some of these comments...naur
I know it's BL, and BL and toxicity go hand-in-hand, but no. Of course the author is going to try and humanize that little bobble head Chuckie knock off, because he's (sadly) the ML. But did we forget those first few chapters???
Dude drugged him, changed this man's genitalia, SA'd him and then didn't have the decency to take this life-altering change seriously. Worst of all is the seme's motivation for doing so being nothing but internalized homophobia.
Like, I know the author's gonna try and make him likeable and I will continue reading with that expectation, but I will not forget his crimes ヽ(`Д´)ノ

Now, I don't claim to be a professional on this sort of subject matter, but I wanted to clear up any confusion for those wondering why the groomer would want to groom Hayden after having had it done to himself.
Because media literacy is dying: I AM NOT JUSTIFYING THE GROOMING; I simply want to give an explanation for those who are confused.
The film industry is known for having an excess of...shady practices that often exploit children, women, and men. The circle is so tight knit and competitive that one wrong move can cost an actor their entire career. Oftentimes, they will do unsavory things and never speak on it simply to preserve their careers, while the perpetrators continue to walk free.
In the area of grooming, if you look at celebrities (such as Dr*ke B*ll, for example), you can see that they are groomed traumatically into these unsavory behaviors. While there are many who seek help, others will instead continue to perpetuate the cycle, because they never healed from their trauma and - worse still - they see it as "just part of the industry." This, in turn, causes a vicious cycle where the abused turn into the abusers.
