my god. it seems as though the comics i’ve been reading for a while now are finishing up all at once, sheesh… but anyway!!! i’ve truly enjoyed reading this manhwa. (so freakin’ wholesome, dude!!) i really liked the dynamics between our two mains, too! and it’s been nice watching them ‘adapt’ and grow—both individually and as a couple. was it everything i hoped it’d be? i don’t know, i didn’t really have any expectations. i was looking for a nice, classic aristocratic romance manhwa, and that’s precisely what i got! do note that i’m overall pleased with the ending, too—even though i found it somewhat abrupt and unexpected, i won’t lie. definitely not a bad ending, though! i just didn’t expect it this to happen this soon. a lot of things happened in the last chapter… hence my initial surprise, lol. but no matter! i’m content. now, will i ever reread this? well, possibly. just as i’ve mentioned previously, i’ve definitely enjoyed myself here. it was sweet and low-key awkward and wholesome and uncomplicated! and a fairly pleasant distraction at that. not too shabby! well, i suppose this review ended up being rather short, but i don’t really know what else to say at this point. either way, i’m excited for the epilogue chapters! i do hope we’ll get to witness our main man give birth, haha. that’d be pretty great, honestly! ;)

ugh, so cute!!! i love the overall dynamic of the story and i ADORE their mother-daughter relationship. it’s so wholesome i could cry. i’m looking forward to see the romance aspect is things spice up eventually, too!! looks like we’re slowly heading in that direction already. <33

this is some amazing writing!

I liked this one because of its rare realism when it comes to comics and such. It was intriguing to watch their relationship dynamics shift and evolve throughout! Not too much excitement; not too little depth. It was a nice, unexpected balance! I feel that it’s a bit rare to find characters who stay true to themselves all the way until the very end. They simply grew together. And I especially appreciate the way they both handled things respectively, too. Once again, quite realistic for a manhwa. (Or maybe I’ve just been reading the unrealistic kind until now, sheesh. I don’t know.) Anyway, even though it wasn’t particularly exciting in other areas, I’ll give credit where it’s due! I’m definitely a generous reviewer, though, so I don’t know about it everyone else… I’m not particularly difficult to please with this stuff, I guess. Still, this was my take on it! I’ve enjoyed reading a somewhat shorter comic for once—most of those I’ve been binging are much longer, so that’s a nice change of pace. (Let’s just overlook the fact that I didn’t actually complete this one in one sitting, but those are mere details.) I’d recommend it to readers who might be into anxious, realistic, very ‘real life-like’ characters in a generally melancholic atmosphere without all that bothersome, unnecessary melodrama to top it off. Just keepin’ it real, is all. And there’s that!

wow. what an incredible redemption story. he’s worked SO. FUCKING. HARD. to do well and to be a better person. oh joong seok has grown so much since we first started out… i’m so freakin’ proud of his accomplishments, and it’s been amazing seeing this slow and gradual progress of his—genuinely. (it truly has been a process, lol.) this man clearly thought so lowly of himself to the point where he couldn’t distinguish his strengths and capabilities from his flaws. in his eyes, he was just plain trash; undeserving of anything even remotely close to atonement or forgiveness. but man, look at how far he’s come!!! i mean, i absolutely DID see his point—he was human scum—but he’s simply not the same person he once was anymore. that much is clear as day! i’m so, so happy that he’s finally come to realize that for himself. what impressed me the most is the fact that he remained the very person deep within his core. you can clearly tell that ‘high school’ oh joong seok is still ‘post-gangster’ oh joong seok, only matured. i suspect that’s what made his achievements so believable to me. ugh, dude!!! all these efforts he’s made to improve himself!!! i just can’t stop myself from hyping over it. this is what true character development is. it’s inspiring, to be honest. and i love him. LOVE LOVE LOVE HIM. i wish i had a friend like him. and this redemption arc of his has been top-fucking-notch in regards to quality and believability. for what it’s worth, i’ve been SO. IMMERSED. in this manhwa ever since i first started reading it back in november. i’ve rarely come across such an incredibly flawed character with this much positive (both achievable and believable) character development. in the beginning, i seriously thought he’d be irredeemable. i really did. he was such a dick! i thought he’d remain a villain ‘til the very end—albeit a villain with a purpose and a slightly improved moral compass, at best. but he’s become a genuinely good person, and that mere fact is moving in itself! obviously, i should’ve given him the benefit of the doubt. i honestly can’t believe it still, lol. the fact that made perfect sense, too!!! that’s the most shocking part of it all to me. i adore, adore, ADORE him. it’s been such a journey. i’ll definitely reread this one of these days. i even stated tearing up at the end! and just like i said earlier, i was unexpectedly moved by his story. the side characters, antagonists and their personal growths have been incredible, too. man, i’m beat. i can’t wait to reread this, seriously. <33
