i adore everything about this. - - - - - short, out-of-the-blue analysis of dian: while some might deem him crazy, i don’t believe claudian’s crazy at all. he’s been neglected and severely traumatized all throughout his life… he doesn’t know how or who to trust—which is both feasible and understandable given his position, as well as the circumstances surrounding said position… claudian’s on the verge of a complete mental breakdown, and i think we’ll get to witness it pretty soon. (unfortunately.) j also haven’t abandoned the theory of him being under the influence of someone or something else. at this point, you simply wouldn’t know! there are just too many suspicious things that’s been happening as of late that it’s making it quite difficult to finite out its course. in any case, i suspect he’ll have a redemption arc at some point soon, though!!! ahhh, at least i hope so. i kinda like his character, not gonna lie. (well, not the person he IS, per say… but the character itself.) i find him intriguing! hmmm, i guess we’ll have to wait and see. ;)

whoaaa. this started out surprisingly dark!!! i already know i’m going to love this one. …aaaand now that i’ve finished all the available chapters, i can only say that it’s a lot better than i originally thought it’d be. but hey, the translations here doesn’t even COMPARE to the official ones on webtoon, sheesh. not that im ungrateful—i can stay ahead 10-11 chapters because of you troopers—but the difference in quality is no joke, bruh. ughhh, i love these guys. and all these misunderstandings are FINALLY starting to get resolved!!! i’m glad the author(s?) didn’t drag that out. i would’ve died from impatience.

bruuuh, that’s one awkward love triangle. um, rectangle…?? whatever, it’s steamy. and pretty fucked up, in all honesty.

this lady is one savage QUEEN. she’s truly mastered the art of manipulation, it’s really quite impressive. and i CANNOT believe how stunning this art is, wow. our precious baby prince, too… he’s so adorable i could DIE. i honestly feel so bad for him. why’d you need to play him like thaaaat? this is borderline painful to read, gosh. stop torturing the poor guy!! these misunderstandings will legit kill me.

well… it’s MOSTLY enjoyable. some things don’t make sense to me (like her co-founding a guild when she’s trying to LAY LOW???) however, i do kinda like it nonetheless. it probably won’t be a new favorite, but i believe it’ll be worth it in the end… hopefully. these characters are so fucking FRUSTRATING, though!!! ughhh.

before anything else: the art’s simply beautiful. truly, so very gorgeous. now that i’ve got that off my chest, onto the actual review!!! nevaeh & arendt make such a headstrong power-couple (that-isn't-really-a-couple-yet) that it’s near impossible to NOT gush over them, man… i love the silent innocence of their relationship, as well as the sheer respect & loyalty they have for each other. slow but steady is the way to go! at least when comes to these two good-natured but damaged individuals, haha. i’m glad they’re not rushing into anything they’re not emotionally prepared for, but they’re not exactly moving fast enough, either... it’s a torturous wait for us readers!!! sighhh… this is a slow-burn if i ever saw one, sheesh. excellent writing, however! i’m not at all displeased with the pacing or the overall plot-development (realistically speaking), but i do wish to see them express themselves more intimately and be more honest with each other. i mean, they’re practically divulging EVERYTHING about themselves, except for their romantic & lustful feelings for each other, pfft. they could be such an item if they only indulgeeeed in each other like they clearly want to. (arendt more than nevaeh at this point in time, though... oof.) either way, i absolutely STAN her. she’s such an inspiration. excellent character development thus far (for BOTH characters), and it’s only getting better by the chapter. i really quite enjoy the political aspects of it all, too! i anticipated more romance, but quality’s better than quantity any day of the week. so, uh… to (somewhat) sum things up: we have a neglected ice queen for a main character with trust issues & a heart of gold… and a mischievous (?) emperor for a male lead with an infamously cold persona & good intentions. whichever way you look at it, it’s literally a perfect match, lol. can’t wait for them to finally let themselves go!!! it’ll be worth the wait, for sure. <33

this lady is such a boss ass bitch, goddamn... but i don’t know who else i’m supposed to trust, though. i have a feeling these characters are a lot more complex than they’re letting on—especially that louis guy. i suspect he’s not as horrible as one might expect, but who the hell knows? pretty sure there’s a lot more left of the story to go. i can’t wait to see which direction this story will take!!!
