this is just… beautiful, really. gorgeous writing! i really like rivers’s character, and ranke’s a pretty good male lead at that. interesting dynamics, to say the least… i’m loving the emotional complexity, too! you never know what to expect with these guys. i’m quite enjoying the unpredictability! nonetheless, i’m stoked to read more. i love this development. <33

this is wholly MAGICAL. normally, i would’ve written some waaaay more extensive commentary for a story as exquisitely beautiful as this one, but i’m currently in a major depressive slump, so the gears in my head aren’t exactly working properly… which sucks ass, to be completely honest with you. but, in any case!!! my god, this might just be one of the best manhwas i’ve ever read. (and i’ve read a lot of those, oof.) simply put, i’m just wholly enthralled. captivating writing, gorgeous & expressive art, lovely character & emotional development… there’s literally ZERO aspects to complain about. it’s perfect. i love bayan and dahn’s natural chemistry, ughhhh. it’s so depressingly wholesome i could CRY. their bond is so fucking precious. and beautiful. and enviable. and the overall dynamics of the story is just… ON. POINT. it’s simply outstanding writing! 100/10, would absolutely recommend. (just impatiently awaiting the side stories now!!!)

not gonna lie, things started out kinda slow… but it grew in me real quick, heh. i’m excited for this!!! edit: omfg. this is a turning out to be one massive fucking SLAUGHTERHOUSE, holy shit!!! and i’m seriously fucking LIVINGGGG FOR IT. (unlike the majority of these foolish, always-looking-for-trouble extras, lololol.) i’m embarrassingly weak to a good power-trip. honestly, i’m just loving the sheer brutality of this! maybe i’m simply sick in the head for feeling that way, but this shit gets my blood pumping like craaaazy. i fully expected this manhwa to be one of those wannabe-righteous, classic-underdog-morphs-into-martial-arts-divinity type stories... well, knowing our boy ‘originates’ from mount hua and all that. but fuck meeee, i couldn’t have been any more wrong. i never expected THIS!!! and it’s probably the BEST. POSSIBLE. SURPRISE. i could’ve gotten at this point. i’m so happy me predictions were wrong! i’m literally quivering just THINKING about the fact that he’ll eventually return to mount hua after more than a decade of being trapped underground (and universally considered dead)… only to have him return as this completely different person. (or possibly serial killer, i’m not sure yet.) all i know is that he’s a LITERAL carnage-machine, though. like, he’s basically a god at this point, isn’t he? epicccc. bet his old sect fam won’t be expecting something like that. 0.o either way, i can’t wait to see their reactions! it’s bound to be great. i adore this MC. i don’t even care about his violent tendencies. however bad this might seem, i still think he’s a good person. he’s just minding his own business while everyone else’s busy trying to butt their noses into his, sheesh. what a bunch of prideful losers. i love our boy. <33 (JUST LET THE BLOOD FLOW, MY CHILD.) edit #2: that was one HECK of a buildup, omfgggg. and i definitely wasn’t disappointed by the climax, either! what a showdown, my god. and the revelation, finally!!! i legit had to hold in my fucking screams at 03:30 in the morning, lmfao. soooo worth the wait!

i’m quite enjoying this! loving the fighting scenes. some of these characters are so goddamn annoying and childish at times, though, but it is what it is. possibly more room for some proper character development, no? i really do appreciate naru as a MC as well. although, his ‘personal’ ambitions…? not so much. but, once again, it is what it is. i’m hoping he’ll have a change of heart at some point. or that he’ll at least find a purpose within HIMSELF other than his ‘princess’ or whatever. well, i suppose i could always change my mind… since, clearly, the story’s FAR from being over. hee-hee. edit: NEVER MIND ALL THAT. I LOVE THIS MANHWA. IT’S SO VIOLENT!!! i especially like the emperor’s character, omfg. what a perfect villain he is. i’m low-key obsessed with that… sadistic, fascinatingly delusional psycho of a man, oof. loving the sheer brutality of this. and the story’s super unpredictable in general, too!!! never know what to expect from these people. excellent character development, too. the complex and conniving nature of some of these powerful men are just… too-notch quality, my guy. man, it’s great. <33 and if that’s not all, OUR HOMEBOY’S AN ACTUAL. *already screaming* omfg. ‘brothers without a tomorrow’ never fucking disappoints, man... only briefly looked at one of the smutty chapters and pretty much instantaneously noticed blondie call the tattooed one “dad” and i nearly had a fucking SEIZURE form the way my body twitched and shit. fuuuuck meeee, i’m so messed up… i probably shouldn’t be getting so goddamn turned on by shit like this, right? ughhh, they’re so hot in bed, tho… lololol, i guess it’s whatever. it’s just fiction. juuuust fiction. anyway, came back to check the description after reading the smutty scene and saw it only said STEPDAD!!! one less moral obstacle, teehee. <33 i definitely feel less filthy after knowing that, hah. they’re such a dynamic power couple. absolutely LOVING their energy!!! as well as their conniving, low-key manipulative natures. such a good match, honestly. they have great chemistry! this is quite an intriguing plot—or ‘direction’ to take, if you will—for an isekai of this type, too. i’m genuinely excited for each new chapter i read, haha. never quite know what to expect. oh, and obviously, the art’s pretty fucking GORGEOUS, too!!! so, so enticing. i’m quite appreciative of the emotional complexity of these characters. i’m so rooting for the two of them! and i hope they’ll finally get together soon. (well, as in TOGETHER-together… emotionally. let’s break down those walls!) i mean, the premise’s pretty much already there. ughhh, the underlying sexual tension is killingggg meeeee. such a sweet, entertaining dynamic duo. <33
