Minato is an out of the closet gay who sadly picks abusive partners bc he feels he has no choice if he wants a chance at happiness (even though all he wants is to be loved and to be happy) because there are so few gays to choose from, he feels he can't be picky. He befriends Takumi who is a sculpture artist he admires and begins to open up to him once they meet over his workplace, a cafe. Minato's last straw with his ex is when he catches him cheating on him, on Minato's birthday. He goes to Takumi's for comfort and one thing leads to another. They do have issues, one very realistic one being that Takumi has never been in a gay relationship before and had in the past, expressed a strong desire to have a family. I enjoyed seeing these real issues be addressed and confronted. And it was nice seeing Minato have really supportive ppl around him, the ppl he works for plus his mother. ((Btw it was his shithead ex that raped him))

Calen comes to limbo as the new Shinigami but has lost all his memories. Makato or Golem as his friends call him, is one of the assistants but is special cuz he is made out of clay. He falls in love with Calen though Makoto's father disagrees with the relationship. His father knows however that he will have to be reincarnated soon and with that, Makato's soul, which is entwined with his will crumble away. It was heartbreaking not knowing if Makoto will keep existing without his father. But even more so when his father was briefly brought back, but not allowed to see his son before crossing over to be reincarnated. It was great that Calen and Makoto got to stay together but it left the question of "for how long?" Since it seemed Makoto put off his reincarnation and probably Calen will too.

Omega Haru, brought up in a trash family made to feel like trash until he meets sibling brothers who fall for him at a ball. Unfortunately, Eiji feels threatened by his older brother's presence and by Haru's reaction to Renji so does douchebag things to make it seem like Renji has no feelings for Haru. However, Renji separated from Haru to get away from his toxic family and make a name for himself to claim Haru whom he recognized as his fated pair. He left him a letter which Eiji discovered and hide from him. For a while, when Renji was abroad, Eiji and Haru have a relationship but he was always the side dish since Eiji had a fiancee. When Renji returns things gets cleared up, feelings mature and intensify and although Eiji comes clean about his actions, there's no room for him anymore. Renji ultimately becomes mates with Haru. Happy ending! (Except for the attempted rape on Haru by some rando alphas perpetrated by Eiji's fiancee out of jealousy) meh
