Update after completion: a let down. It was going so well, and then suddenly went downhill after the escape from the dungeon. ML was weirdly avoiding FL, 2nd lead was acting out of character, both with the noble idiot syndrome, and FL suddenly turned into that weak, inactive, meek, regular FL i dislike. Ugh! And i don’t like MLs that stay secretive over the most stupid things knowing it’s dangerous. PS: Duke Rowen is so fine!!! I ship him hardcore with purple haired Duke Avrott (idk why they don’t just call female duke, duchesse). Sadly i ended up not liking how their love story went. Purple haired girly became annoying acting too oblivious to the point of stupidity. A great ship ruined. ML’s parentd had no business getting back together. His dad redemption arc was not needed thank you very much. The sudden attempt at making it look like he always loved the mom, bla bla bla, and the mom acting all pathetic and still wanting him pissed me off. I didn’t think ML was worth the love FL had for him. He was boring and seem to be one dimensional, with only his supposed good look and talent with his sword going for him. I didn’t see the appeal past the first few chapters. And i didn’t understand his dedicated love for her either. She did nothing deserving it, especially for it it is based on the first time he met her when they were younger. And 2nd ML was a let down. So much potential. His noble idiot sacrifice in the hands of the princess at some point pissed me off. And how did he even allow himself to fall for FL knowing from day one he had no chances. For a character supposedly smart, it made no sense. Overall, writer started well, but went in direction i disliked. No reread needed. Storyline from the first few chapters: ML fell for FL before official first meeting, and has been watching her from the side hoping for an opportunity to approach her. He’s a powerful «pillier » of the country. The fl is a baroness but of commoner origins. He’s way out of her social class. He’s smitten. Never paid attention to any women before her. She’s gorgeous.

SFL was supposed to be a villain, but started and stayed noce since childhood. Ogfl was the villain, but she later changed her ways, helped fl and they became friends. Quite unusual and refreshing in this typeof trope. ML the prince loved FL from the beginning and never gave ogfl a glance. Same with second lead. Nothing special, a bit meh. Skimmed through from halfway.
