Hotel Ojakgyo
1.8, im sorry but this manga kinda sucks The art style is pretty sick, don’t get me wrong, but what even.. is the plot? A “dominant” omega has an interest in an alpha who’s essential a gentle top who’s a younger son of a conglomerate family but they have to surpass the older brother that’s an alpha r*pist in order to be together properly. That’s it? Oh wait no the cherry on top is supposed to be that.. the r*pist brother approves in the end while the couple share a passionate hospital bounded pillow talk moment. Ah yes and the “dominant” omega— what about this omega was dominant? I think you folks are confusing a power bottom with a dominant omega. Don’t get it twisted, a dominant omega would’ve commanded that grapist of an alpha to get on his knees and fuck off out of there without any of his futile hassle. This is nothing short of a crack anime for sure, of course im not rereading this are you insane lol.
Muri Marriage
Wasn’t too bad, the characters are drawn nicely and the plot went well since there was no rape or anything at all which is rare in BL and Yaoi sadly. Less rape to no rape is the goal but alas. N e wayz- I hate arranges marriage plots, it sends me into a spiral of sourness, tradition can kiss my ass but also happy ending for the main guys so that’s good ig. I don’t hate their relationship, whatever makes them happy is infinitely better yet for some reason I would’ve loved to see way more depth in the storyline like a series of chapters that have both POVs and a better transition of events. Transition of events as in they went from hating on each other, going along with the arrangements, to running away and separating, to suddenly superficially lovey dovey, then boom sex and attachment. The steps are there but the depth isn’t. But for a short manhwa it’s fine, it did it’s job. Also poor co-worked though, better luck next time
Finding Family
This one is really super. It has a healthy wholesome relationship, lots of acceptance, and a perfectly good recovery from the antagonist. All of it fit into few chapters without it feeling rushed, that is truly amazing.
Therapy Game
4.8, not bad! It’s actually sweet in the moments that they fall for one another, I especially love a Seme that falls hard and deeply for the Uke without being toxic in a forceful SA type of way. In a way, I actually understood the Uke a lot more down to the resistance type of ways esp with his past traumas, I just didn’t care for the multiple themes wherein the Uke is misled into things (going back to his home town, believing he’d have to explain himself to the Seme when his brother answers the door, etc.). But the Uke dealt with it all well plus he’s a power bottom, I can’t be mad, it’s a dynamic I actually love to see in BLs sometimes. Could reread.
My Darling Signed In
5.5, I really enjoy this one. The art is unique though I can understand why some say the art could improve, it feels like it’s on its initial track of Ks Secret era (iykyk) but I don’t have any art expertise so to me looks great! What a loaded story. I’ve reread this like .. a handful of times and it’s a rollercoaster every time. Their conflicts are interesting and progressive without dipping into grapes. Some SA though and harassment but for this genre and this particular story I can overlook it. The characters have fabulous depth, for the most part, though it feels like the main game developer lacks some. It’s like his personality was constantly flipping between antagonists and aloof protagonist. By the end we coin that he’s a very strategic character but I don’t think his parts overall reflected it as well as I wish I could have. On the other hand, the main characters are adorable and well suited for eachother. I have mixed feelings on the time gap plot as I have doubts to how their relationship was successful despite being apart for over 2 years but it became the reason that Jae grew confidence and poise so again another point I can just willfully believe is just a one in a milli chance that they were the perfect relationship even apart. Wish there were more to the side couples honestly, the manager and main game developer would’ve been fantastic to dive into. I appreciate their lil tidbit at the end tho, if that’s all we get then I’m thankful. Def could reread again after I forget about it a bit.
Haikyuu! dj - Primary Target
5.0, I surprisingly liked this one because there’s no gr@pe or SA or dubious consent, although I can’t rate it any better because the reoccurring discussion of monopolizing and possible grape is off putting. It felt very much omegaverse without the omegaverse genders? But I really liked how the plot is set with catching feels, having a fued, only for them to have a character influence on Kageyama that inspires him to change. Very interesting actually, plus the art is kinda cute I can’t lie. Could reread.
Haikyuu!! - Kokoro Control (Doujinshi)
4.5, I like this one despite the dubious consent when Kageyama would push the boundaries insistently (because that was unfortunately red flag) BUT i can look past it here in this case particularly because 1) finally this is a Haikyuu Doujin that actually makes Hinata stand up for himself and protect himself properly cus he is NOT powerless and idk why that’s such a propagated image of him. 2) Kageyama reflected properly. 3) They communicated which is bare minimum but rare so I appreciate it. The art also makes them cute, I’d reread this one.
