From Points of Three
EXCELLENT! I LOVED THIS! I think i'm interested in reading more BDSM stories .... The main story ended well and non-cliched at like chapter 50 and then it was Sun-yool story after that, but it was well intertwined with the past story's characters. The big theme here is manipulation is not a game to be played especially as it forces you further from yourself.
Lovely Again Today
this story had really lovely parts and such a wholesome genuine romance- I do feel like the ending was rushed or convenient. The author did drop hints throughout that Hyung had some interesting relationship with Seowon but it kind of all got revealed in one swoop. The memory wasn't even gone for that long like I guess I just wanted to see more pain and struggle T.T lol but the Mountain God also wasnt the type to prolong suffering even if he was a petty little thing so I guess I get it. I also did notice that we really only had a single love interest which was honeeesssstly niceeeee. Like sure I want yuna or yool to find love buuuuut I think its most realistic that they have their own timelines -not triggered by the MCs relationship.
Walk on Water
I really appreciate this story -it has a realness that not many in this genre can capture. There's an air of melancholy throughout and as we find ourselves in Ed's deepest despair, it all seems to feel darker -Like we've also reached our lowest. To me this story is about redemption. In trying to figure out what a meaningful life is and could look like. Since he was a child, Ed was trying to find meaning in his life starting with his relationship with Chang and the grandma. The Ed we initially meet is trying to pay for the mistakes/accidents of the past while looking ahead and doing whatever it takes without any sense of purpose. He finds his purpose through his mistake(?) in porn and when that blows up he spirals. I think what was really refreshing in this story is the honesty -his spiral was honest, his pain and the challenges of starting over were honest, the length of time it took to get his footing back and how long it took to actually accept Creed as a partner again. This story didn't take "processing your emotions" lightly. In characters like Ryan we see his own personal journey, like Ed's, to redeem himself from a life that he now knows he doesnt want. In Chang we see someone who lets their pride get in the way of them redeeming themselves, contrasting Creed's actions. yui? well he's someone who didn't even try. Anyways, I think this is a lovely and meaningful story that could benefit from a close reading but im not getting into it today. Key Words: Redemption, Pride, Brutal Honesty, Accepting is Enjoying the Life you're given/earn ALSO WOWOWOWOW on the Bruce Lee poster ALSO WOW @Ed's coworkers bashing gay people but being accepting of him- is this some sort of exceptionalism? or are we seeing how people think keeping one group oppressed can be a boost to us?
Our Relationship Is...
this was really sweet- the art was very pretty and the character development was precious. I do wish we would have interrogated more Gayoung's feeling like she didn't have the right to confess even before the whole Eugene mess. If she didn't get in her own way from early -there wouldn't be such mess. I also think the development of their friendship after the betrayal was amazingly realistic and especially mature on Gayoung's part -it felt like she recognized a trigger or an environment that makes her uncomfortable and shifted how she navigated it. while she recognizes those arent the same sort of people she dealt with before, she honors her feelings. ALSO, WOOJIN definitely like her in high school so why is he FRONTIN LIKE HE ONLY REALIZED IN WHEN SHE CONFESSED LOL PLAYING IT COI HUH ALSO OH-HYUNG IS GOATED HES THE PILLAR OF THIS MANGA LOWKEY AND AWWE CUZ HE AND CHANHEE ARE QAUUTTEE
What's going on?
currently waiting on season 3 to finish
Doridosim
This was a great story! Its very slice of life, but what I really adored was that the ML and FL didn't let anyone else manipulate or intrude on their romance. At first your like "whoops insert the misunderstandings" or "damn this jealous person is gonna fuel someone's insecurities causing conflict" BUT THE MISUNDERSTANDINGS AND CONFLICTS NEVER CAME EVEN WHEN THOSE THINGS HAPPENED! The main characters did their best to listen to the love they had and not the whispers of others. They were as upfront as they could be, and when they were shy or avoidant they made contact in their own way or didn't let the avoidance drag on. I think this is what they mean when they say date people who LIKEEEEE YOU. Now I know we don't know what happens between Yang Yang and Hoon but even of the author only ships them as friends who support each other's weaknesses I think that's pretty great they had great chemistry. All the characters had personality- their own style and flair. It was really easy to see especially towards the end. Hoon's development was my fave mostly because whe saw he had to peel a loot of layers to be honest with himself and that journey felt v real. ANYWAYS LOVELY STORY- I don't think theres much more I could ask for but its not GOATED but I still wish I could give it 5 stars buuuuuut ratings mean things loln
Love Barometer
I really enjoyed a character like Chaenwoo who really focuses on being herself and being the best at being herself too lol From her aggression to her enamored feelings to her shyness to her sense of justice to her kindness, I loved seeing this type of character and it being a woman. I also love how sensible the characters are and how the plot wasn't about misunderstandings. I think the glasses guy had GREAT development and his narcissism was something else. I also found it so relatable Chaenwoo's insecurity: she liked someone who was trash so she'd be trash. Also, you could see her development over time and how she grew out of her insecurities and let go of her past. Which to me, on some level, makes the resolution with Hanna fitting. Even if we're resolving it now it already happened and it's not gonna affect Chaenwoo now; no matter what the impact of the apology/punishment would have been the same since Chaenwoo wasn't looking for it anyways Finally, I want to see that this was a really nice story, great pace, and smooth plot. I experienced many emotions while reading and despite knowing(in my heart) that it would be a happy ending, I felt like I was going a long for a great ride because I never knew what would happen. There wasn't anything particularly cliche about this and tbh I even doubt who the main love interest would be for a little while and what glasses guy would actually do in the story etc. this feltlike a great lil universe that I was able to peep into
Melting Point (Chamji)
MHMMMMMM the uke was kind of irritating -I understand he had a difficult family life and maybe this is a bit insensitive of me but he was HELLA disrespectful for no reason ( sense of inferiority). Being ACTIVELY nasty because of your situation has never sat right with me- his general tenacity, his spunk/blunt attitude are also traits developed from his upbringing probably and they are a bonus ... but Nastiness?! mhmmm you develop that in yourself. I think he did acknowledge that part of himself and seemed to grow but it was weird how easily he could switch back especially before they were dating The seme was pretty bland and felt lowkey like a pushover for this dude. BUT when I realised he transferred because HE was beating people up LOL YESSS I WAS ALL IN I also appreciated his strength and integrity at work- thats a terrible work environment and I'm glad he left. Its an okay story and the second half is probably most interesting
Mango's Bone
WOW excellent! I love this story and I love how it navigates through the subject of sexual assault and trauma. Specifically, how survivors navigate the world, experience it in all sorts of ways, and deal with the stigma that may come from being someone who speaks out. Surprisingly (and also not) the way people attempt to connect with, silence, boss around, gaslight, etc was much more uncomfortable for me to see. I love how connected this group of friends is and how quick they are to come to each other's defense. It would be easy to make a story that's messy especially with how the romance unraveled but that's not the case here. That being said, it all worked to make Lisa's trauma and heartache much more palpable. The characters themselves were all unique, multidimensional people with even their own cadence in my head. Oh also! the Voltaire reference throughout! wow! nicely done! Mango's bone poem/metaphor is an excellent extension of Voltaire's story and grounds the main conflicts in the story. From Lisa's mom's view of her future husband, the grandma's optimism for her son, Yoojul's father's assumptions about him, or Yoohin's initial understanding of Lisa. These are all realities we can see and feel, but they aren't as simple as we'd like to make them seem. We take common ideas or facts and put them together to make a reality we can understand which may not always be accurate. In the case of the mango bone, we note a hard bone-like structure in the mango so we assume the mango has bones because so many living things have bones. When that's not the case our reality is crushed and how we react and how we negotiate OUR truth with THE truth can vary.
