Park Hanhoo's Manager
I re-read this all in one go because i forgot the plot lmao. Plot-wise it's interesting and the first few chapters are great, but the execution is a bit lacking i suppose? In the first place, author never explains much about this imaginary country the story is set in, so there are a lot of ambiguities and confusion regarding how things work (the laws, the government, the police, etc). Dynamic between main characters is fun, can be a bit tiring / frustrating bc of Hanhoo's possessiveness and lack of moral though, and i'm floored that he's not in prison because he was basically a mass murderer himself. There are also a LOT of side characters but no development / exploration so they feel like nobodies eventhough they're supposed to be the people Chanseol were closest with. Idk. This manhwa feels unfinished. Maybe it's because of the pacing or the art, but everything feels very surface level and impact-less. The situations the characters are in are often very grave and the main conflict is dark as hell, but i never feel that way while reading it.
Hayama-sensei no Dakimakura
What kind of fluffity.... this just called me single 27377372 times then slapped me lovingly accross the face. Seriously though, i'm really glad that this manga is shounen ai because the spaces usually used for sex scenes are filled with relationship development, fluff, communication, and MORE fluff. I love it so much.
Hatsukoi, Catharsis
Very looking forward to this! From what i've read i think it's going to be a Phenomenal one. I always love to see established couple bicker affectionately and be domestic with each other, and this manga conveys both with great story telling and dialogues. Can't wait to read the rest.
Pride ni Kiss
Mazu wa Oishii Gohan wo Tabeyou
TW: past sexual assault HOLY CRAP? The Communication? Validation of feelings?? The character development and pacing??? I always like works that have everything to do with people bonding over food and eating together, but this one just takes it up several notches--close to a tie with Mita Homuro's Bokura no Shokutaku. I was a bit skeptical at first and thought that it would be one of those "positive-yet-shallow" mangas, so the author really surprised me with how well developed the characters were. So many encouraging quotes that make me feel validated eventhough they're just lines from a comic book. The pacing and writing are also good that the happy ending feels all the more deserved. And the delicious dishes are truly the cherry on top. All in all, a wonderful read.
Living With Him
Kazuhito is like the most ideal love interest ever. He has all the qualities i want in a partner and he should be the standard of all BL characters. Like seriously from now on anything less is trash to me lmao. The story and writing sadly didn't really match my taste but i'll give it 4 stars because kazuhito fkn rocks.
Double
From the author of Moratte Kudasai-- and i'm so fucking in love. There's so much to unpack idek what to say. My heart's hurting the whole time i'm reading and i can't wait for the life of me for another chapter.
Ikemen Douryou ga Ore no Juukakin Fan Deshita
Boku no Barber e Yokoso
This manga feels luxurious. i felt good seeing the MC being pampered and it's amazing that i got ASMR just from reading this lol. That aside, i found the romance lacking. We get almost no explanation why ML is so obsessed with MC (aside from him wanting to cut his hair), so his attention comes across as creepy to me, and their relationship kinda shallow.
