My Deepest Secret
I read this on Webtoon a while ago.. Like maybe 2 years~? And I remember being flabbergasted and if you think I like being spoiled now, you should see me then cuz I was searching for spoilers. So of course I knew that the girl was the real psycho and she had DID. I'm not sure if it represents the disorder properly or if it was done for the aesthetic without any proper research, so I won't mention anything about it. I do see people saying that the movie with James McAvoy was misleading and damaging for the people in that community so I won't be surprised if this is the same shit. Now I like the flashback on the MC, her dad was vile and her mom irresponsible for leaving her with that trash of a human being. I don't condone cheating but his disgusting behaviour couldn't have come up from nowhere right? Maybe it showed up in bits and pieces to her mom, or maybe she's trash as well. The "psycho bf" was so sweet and kind and I hate that we saw him for something other than his cinnamon self. Also how the MC based her personality from his gf? Whew! She broke them up.. The side eye the co-worker barista gave to her in hindsight is comical, the foreshadowing is nice but it could use a lot more work imo. So the ML is a green flag through and through, he also has personality. That's my gripe with green flag men in media, they lack the sauce that red flag men possess, but not him honey. He got all the rizz, personality, charm.. You name it. Also how he still loves her even after figuring out that she's the culprit. I think his first clue was when she fought that guy in the streets, the warning bells were ringing in his head! Also his bestie being a woman and them actually being friends? We love debunking myths that say men and women can't be friends. I love it here. He is such a kid around her and she is fosho the mom of the group.. The group now consists of him, her and MC. The MC and her getting along and being friends as well was the cherry on top
I Think I Have Transmigrated Somewhere
Wow.. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this. I like the dynamic between the main leads as well as the second leads. It's so very different yet equally interesting. Personally the main leads dynamic is my favourite because there's so much teasing going on, and the way they interact with eo is such a breath of fresh air. It's been a while since we've got an ML with personality!! I love that he has a sharp tongue, love that he trusts his instincts and love him overall. The MC gives me so much second hand embarrassment, yet I still come back for more. They are such engaging characters, truly the backbone of this manhwa. The romance is the main plot, but its sub-plots are very fascinating as well. I like that the MC's past is supposedly shrouded in mystery, the deal with White (what entity is he?) And that we have two regressors and a transmigrator. Also the ML isn't needlessly edgy or sketchy and moves with a purpose. I love how the MC just assumes stuff and just goes with it. I love that it subverted my expectations. It's so light-hearted and I love that it pokes fun at the genre it's in.. A parody of its genre. It reminds of Gintama in that sense. As someone well endowed in this genre, there's a sense of satisfaction in that I'm privy to the inside jokes made in this manhwa.
Kimi no yoru ni fureru
I always wanted to read this from the moment I saw it on my FYP. I just knew instantly that I would like it, it's one of the few mangas that I feel like no one can hate. The story itself is simple yet in its simplicity there is perfection. I love the art, the characters, their story arcs, the way they interact.. So everything basically. The thing the ML said to the MC about his eyes "Your eyes that were able to see through me/everything"... that is the perfect description for the MC. His eyes were the thing that attracted me to this manga in the first place. I had some misconceptions too, mainly to do with the ML.. I expected him to be more jaded, tough, depressed, heartless etc. But this is so much better, I couldn't have hoped for anything else. I like how pure, delicate, sweet, gentle the MC is..
Misunderstanding
Oop- this is actually banging?! I didn't expect much but this might be the typa shit I devour. I like both of them, but I feel myself being drawn to the sunbae more? Which is rare for me cuz the bottom usually aren't really what I gravitate towards. Well he is a power bottom so that might add to it but I like that the hierarchy is still there since most BLs just ignore that for whatever reason. Like even though they are the hyung/senior, just cuz they the bottom in the bedroom don't mean shit outside. I like the fact that the top already liked the Sunbae and is a softie (it seems like). And the way the Sunbae just accepts his fate made me chuckle and increased my fondness for him. I like long time unrequited love from the top almost always so love ittt!!
I Was Just Having Fun With The Time Limit
Well isn't this the most stinking adorable shit ever!?! I like everyone, I wish the dad would be more honest but he's a tsundere so I get it. I like all the brothers too. I like the mom but I wish she was more present. I was pleasantly surprised by her having an actual responsibility rather than just a title. I like that they are so in love. I wish the MC trusted the mage a bit more since she loves her so much. I like the shadow/secretary man too. I like his ruthless and gentle side. I like that the MC's past life ties in with this life.. Like the fact that she had a chronic illness so that's why she is so eerily calm about death and wants to treasure each moment spent with her family. How she gives importance to little things and finds joy in it, like running without feeling pain etc.
Bite marks and Fluorite
This is actually really cute. It's super fast paced cuz it's a manga. It feels like a one shot but extended to six chapters. I like how they communicate their feelings to eo, I like that they respect eo and that they are both decent people. We don't know anything about anyone else except for that one side-kick but that's OK. I don't mind it, the 'priest' guy was annoying as fuck. The typical psycho character, nothing out of the norm, I kinda wished he was being genuine and that it would be a major conflict. But then again there are only six chapters so maybe that was too ambitious. So many things unexplored, the pure blood thing, World War 2 lore, the modern world (I assume theirs is diff since they talk about how it's common to be an orphan). I like how the bottom loves being submissive and owns it. That's pretty rare.
For You Who Grieves
I read upto 4 chapters then skipped to chapter 37 or 38 to the most recent one chapter 42. I still think I got the gist of it tho, I like the MC and ML. I love the way they sort through their feelings and worries, it is a bit dramatic but I wouldn't expect anything else from this type of manhwa. People felt bad for the owner of the body that MC possess but I skipped through so much so I don't really feel for him. I don't know his story so... I do know that he's abused tho and that he has frequent hookups with men. What I also like is that the ML still calls his 'hyung', I do like that aspect of it.
A not so fairytale ||
There is only one chapter on this website but officially on Webtoon there are 41 chapters currently and I have read upto 40. My thoughts on it? Beautiful art style, interesting lore, unhinged characters etc.. I feel that some aspects that makes this story original are left underutilized and we keep going around in circles, leaving so many plot points behind in order to pursue what's popping at the moment. I was hooked from the first chapter feeling that I have found another treasure only to feel disappointment at how the author treats their work. Things didn't go the way I expected, the parts I found refreshing and intriguing were left to rot only to give importance to some mundane things. After the nine tailed fox was introduced, it split a lot of fans and before solidifying itself, so many of its audience left cause they felt disgusted or betrayed. Leaving the borderline incest stuff as it is, the story isn't progressing.. Right now forty chapters in I expected to get some answers but the story is halted for some beauty shots and some splash of comedy with a pinch of action scenes that are there just for the sake of it (or perhaps to showcase the cool side of the characters so that we could gush over the MC). The MC is complex, she is very unhinged, she doesn't have a moral compass and she is very vengeful holding a 1000 worth of grudge destroying herself over it. She isn't just a celestial mage, she is the one in charge of the birth, death and rebirth of the humans so without her the human realm is in jeopardy. Cool so there are stakes to this.. And? I feel like stuff are said but we don't see the effect of it, where are the consequences?! The fact that the ML isn't the Woodcutter is a nice misdirect, I'll give it that. I want to see the ML backstory.. We want to know more. It's fine and dandy that things aren't vomited out and we have to think for ourselves and come to our own conclusions but the author has been dangling this in front of us and forty chapters in? I'm not even interested anymore, it would be fine if the characters were engaging enough and the cast has more meat to them but it feels draining. I keep checking how many chapters there are left and although the art style is pretty, that's not enough.
Beatrice
This has gone on for far too long.. I wasn't really crazy about it from the start but atleast I wasn't rolling my eyes the whole time. This could have been wrapped up in fifty chapters or less and it isn't even done although it spans for 110 chapters. There will be a season 4. I find everything ridiculous. The ML isn't a nice man which I don't mind because I've read worse but the fact that he is portrayed to be one in this story irks me. He killed a princess, killed innocents, turned a blind eye to his subordinates indecent behavior all this time but now he suddenly cares. When he thought to himself that he should've killed Leo, that made me once again roll my eyes, he only cares because it's Chloe. And why the fuck is this manhwa called 'Beatrice' when she identifies as Chloe and that's her og name. Now the problem I have with Chloe is her innocence, her kindness, her purity, her willingness to forgive anyone and everyone regardless of what they did to her. First of all, the way she acts.. It's like the author wanted to remind us she is a girl everytime she is on screen so we don't forget.. With the S line, her screaming 'Kyaaaa' whenever she's surprised, her aegyo...even though she is mistaken time and time again as a boy (her haircut and attire plays a part) but it was made worthy of note she doesn't care how others see her..basically like a tomboy. Her telling herself that Allen is a kind man.. Bitch u witnessed him kill the princess, threatened to kill you, the reason you're a slave and heard from the little girl that you serve that he hits women but because you saw him do the bare minimum he is a 'kind man'?!! The ML blames himself for Chloe's current situation as he should but then this pussy is like I'm satisfied with my life blah blah blah..then her heart pounds badum badum out of nowhere.. Probably because of his handsome face and incredible body (eyeroll). Then he becomes Shakespearean.. Talking on and on about how he doesn't want to love in a world without her and whenever she refuses, he gives these puppy eyes and basically love bombs her. This dude love bombed her so hard. This bitch has never been shown affection her whole life and the most 'wonderful' man loves her.. That alone is one thing but hey he is willing to abandon his whole life for you.. Surely you must love him back right!? And the thing I hate the most is that Chloe never acts out of her own agency.. She is being pulled by his current, she gives into him all the time..Also the motherfucking Duke is redeemed!! Whoa how did that happen? Did this dick repent? Uh no! He felt sorry but he still didn't tell Allen about his sister and mother. Knowing his son's wishes to not marry, he pushes it onto him regardless.. Making him go out in the battlefield at a young age.. Oh what else? He had to take time to think about if he should take in Chloe and an adopted child in the family registry. The only way he agreed was not because he became a better man Oh no! It was because she is technically royalty and since she is the only remaining royalty.. She is worthy of being a princess.. Yay.. Also the sister forgives him? What! Of course she did!! After hearing the saintly Chloe talk about forgiving her ex husband.. She forgives the father who abandoned her.. The very one who didn't want her cuz she was a girl and only cared for her brother. Another fun fact is she didn't even cross his mind once! He felt guilty but not enough to do anything about it and don't remind me of that half-assed apology with tears streaming down his face. Now back to Chloe... This bitch read the diary, so she knows what he did but says 'it's been twenty years, that's plenty of time for a person to change'.. Yes girly forgive him. It's not even her place to forgive that man.. Ugh also her holding Allen back from killing Leo? Even after that sexual harassment.. What a saint. The only good thing is the Sadist × masochist ship that sailed.
